Please explain how the Power are the biggest underachievers of all time. I'm sure everyone on here is looking forward to hearing that futile arguement
Where do you want me to start...
01 - 04 where they won more games then Brisbane and won 1 flag compared to 3 is probably the best starting point. Best Win loss ratio over a 4 year span and win 1 flag.... Pretty much under-acheiving there.
05/06 rebuilding so we won't worry about that
07 where they definately maximised their potential - though winning a lot of close games and doing very well growing a young team
08 they have over 15 regular players this year that were part of the Grand Final team last year, yet they are 2-8 at home this year - where they should be beating average teams. They have continually given up 4 - 5 or 8 goal leads in the 3rd quarter and haven't improved in any area from last year.
This from a team that has Pearce, Motlop, Rodent, Burgoyne (S & P), Cornes C - who are all genuine match winners... Yet these match winners struggle to do anything when the team is struggling (unlike C Judd or B Harvey who lift their team when they need it)...
They are the biggest front runners and the moment things turn or get tough, too many of them are too afraid to put their head over the ball and do the hard things to get their team over the line.
If the Port players had half the committment of a Kangaroos or Sydney team > they would be sitting in the top 4 this year, which is honestly where they belong with the quality of list they have....
P.S. I think the title of this thread is wrong - you missed a PORT between Are and Adelaide.
