The Crows are flat track bullies. Statistically, they are 1-6 against teams currently in the top 8 and 7-2 against teams in the bottom 8.

They are just a middle of hte road team at the moment. They will make the eight as they have a pretty decent run home, but they'll need a heap of improvement if they are to knock off one of the better sides in the finals this year.

And it's exactly where most people predicted we would be at the start of the season .... a finals spot would be exceeding expectations (mine anyway)

So no need for hysteria IMO - this year was always about rebuilding.

That's not to say the last 5 weeks have been acceptable, they haven't been - apart from almost beating the Hawks.

Round 9 debacle v West Coast and the fade-outs v Brisbane & Collingwood make me more alarmed than losing yesterday by 2 goals. Port played really well I thought - especially Motlop & Pearce showed too much skill for our lads.

Not exactly "flat track bulies". It is much simpler than that. The game plan means the Crows win well when they dominate the midfield and fall over when they can't.
It inevitably lands them in the middle of the pack, once the other coaches to woke up to what was going on and worked out how to counter it if they had the players to do it.

You rely on a small core of players - Jolly, O'Keefe, Goodes, Kirk. If one of those is beaten like on Sunday your lot are dead set ordinary. It wouldn't be the worst idea to tank against you in round 20 to ensure we play Sydney rather than St Kilda or Collingwood in that first final. If you blokes finish fourth I'll be overjoyed.

I still think the Crows will struggle to make the 8, but they are developing along nicely with a young list and IMO have less ability and skill then the Power - who are the biggest sooks and under-acheivers of all time.

Pft, I've been taking it all year. And rightfully so, because the Power have been terrible. But the second we open our mouths because our team had a win, you lot are all over it.

Port's season was shot long ago, big deal that they lost to Fremantle.... doesn't make a difference to where they are on the ladder, if they are going to lose, they gotta do it properly.....

As for the Crows, seeing them slide out of the eight was so beautiful, and it was even sweeter watching Port do it... but they still have a chance of making the eight, so every loss matters for them.
