Are you sure? Maybe he's got a Siamese twin still attatched. He's carrying something under that jumper!

I didn't hear him, but I think I've heard him before. A guy rang a couple of weeks ago getting stuck into Laird. I was listening to what he had to say until he started getting stuck into Callinan ... and it was Callinan's first game back from injury. The man's obviously a fool.

He supports a club who has won 6 flags in 8 years, and he's not happy.

This guy who goes by the name Peter when he calls in, is actually an idiot called Mark Neville.
He goes to the footy (Centrals supporter) although I havent actually seen him at a game for years, and carries on like a total tool, he rings up 5rph and often claims to be a Norwood or Eagles supporter as well and bags Centrals.
He is a little man with a big chip on his shoulder, I tried to call in to 5rph to actually put his real name over the air. Mark is the sort of worm who hasnt got the courage to say what he thinks face to face to Roy and the Gowans boys.
He claims Roy didnt face the supporters to answer their questions after the Eagles thrashing. What crap, there are no presentations at the club after away games.
Mark I hope you read this and you are embarressed!

A friend suggested Peter Hellier, I suggested that Buckets didn't come across as a funny bloke however he looked really funny when Fittock ran off him yesterday, could call it poetry in motion-less!

I'm regretting leaving Unley immediately after the game- didnt realise the Premiership Trophy was presented afterwards.

Sturt win by a couple of goals on their own deck against a team with only 19 fit men for the second half and it seems that according to some comments, the Dogs are finished?

Well I know one sure and certain thing. Whoever comes up against us in the Qualifying final will be in for a rude awakening!

Make no mistake - the Dogs have got some work to do in balancing up the side, and maybe a stalwart or two may need to be sacrificed, (NOT the Gowans), but surely only a fool would dismiss this great team from being a force in September.

Bask in the glory of July wins all you like - I should know, I did it for years!

Hazydog, there might have been a few digs at the Dogs and their supporters at Unley (especially those who sooked about the umpiring all day!) but only because it's a moment worth savouring when you manage to knock off the mighty Cennals. I don't go along with the '19 fit men' comment - it was hardly our A-team with the likes of Feast, Wicks, Evans, Coad (and Sharples perhaps) out - but I do agree that the Dogs will be where the action is come finals time. Make no mistake, there is plenty of respect there.

Point taken ZZ - although I would like to think we have pioneered the strategy of midfield rotations in the SANFL and our options were depleted with only one on the bench.

Actually I see this as a potential weakness of ours, given our aging on ball brigade.

By the way - impressed with Sturts new "rugby style" game plan. Much more efficient than the handball game..

Odd, as in quirky, unusual. Not odd as in weird. Seems a decent chap! BTW, what was deleted?

Dutchy, I don't quite know where you are coming from with your post about my game review being Centrals orientated mate, did you really listen to LifeFM ??? I had about 2 minutes and basically read out the final scores, goal kickers from both sides and then in Budget order, mentioned who I thought were the better players for both sides. I covered players from the 2 teams and made mention that it was an enjoyable game to watch even though there were quite a few ball ups due to a lot of intesity and tackling. I then went on to say that Centrals mounted a lte comeback but due to a few defensive errors, the Double Blues managed to come out on top with a well deserved, hard fought 13 point win.

Kookas, you might have a few valid points about the Gowans twins being slow, but to be honest, they have never really been that quick anyway, and why would you call one of them an idiot ? Not jealous he doesn't play for your team are you, bet you wouldn't mind hus record in a Double Blues jumper hey ? All they do is pride themselves on winning the footy and being great users of it through a tough, niggling, aggressive (and yes, at times arrogant) style of play. While they are definatley past their best days, their value to the team, when fully fit and switched on, is way too good to pass up on. Wouldn't you feel the same if you had a pair of 6 time premiership players in your team ? Now yes, some say they are holding back youngsters, but at the end of the day, if the boys themselves thought there value to the team was no longer warranted and they were getting in the young kids way, they would step aside. The kids that do get opportunities to play along side them will be better for the experience and will hold them in good stead for next year when the Twins aren't there anymore.

Like mentioned above, I thoroughly enjoyed the game yesterday, and while I was dissapointed with the final result, I thought it was a tough, hard, sometimes scrappy battle of two good sides. Put simply, Sturt were too good on the day and we let ourselves down once again by not being able to play 4 quarters of football. We struggled all day for a key forward to present strongly and although the Sturt defenders did their jobs well, we had no real fluency coming into attack. Chambers was too strong again for Sibba and Luke Crane absolutely dominated through the midfield. I thought that the pressure both sides put on each other when in possession was a real highlight and was almost reminisant of finals like pressure. I heard that the Dogs had 62 tackles for the game and while that is an impressive stat, a fair majority of them were a result of us being second to the ball or chasing Double Blue jumpers. We certainly showed glimpses of being capable against the top 2 sides but it's not much point mounting a comeback all the time when you are trailing by 6 or 7 goals at 3/4 time, you need to be closer than that, especially aginst the better sides, they don't let you sneak the win like we did against Norwood and Port.

The better team on the day definately won and I must admit, I thought we were a much better chance when I found out from the match stewards the 3 or 4 late changes Ricky MacGowan was forced to make. While I thought we did well to get back into the contest in the last quarter, it was the 3rd term where the game was set up by the home side obviosuly kicking 8 goals and being first to the ball. I thought that the umpires were fairly good and I say that because, apart from bouncing the ball up a fair bit, they didn't seem to have too much influence on the flow of the game. Centrals have a lot of work to do still if they are going to challenge Glenelg next week and while I think we will get better in the coming weeks with a few more good players coming back in, it is clear that Sturt and Glenelg are the team to beat. Many say don't write the Dogs off come finals and while I think they are right, we still have a hell of a lot more improvement in us and will need to start finding some consistant form to take into the finals if we want to take it up to the top 2 sides.

While I think we are capable of beating either side, we need to start by putting 4 consistant quarters of footy together. Well done to Sturt on a good win, I think that game might just be a bit of a preview to the qualifying final. We certainly missed Daniel Schell yesterday and having Dan Havelberg go down with an ankle injury and a quiet James Gowans cop a corky didn't help the cause either. I am certainly looking forward to the next time these 2 sides meet again at Hamra Homes Oval under lights in the last minor round game of the season, should be another pretty tight struggle that could go either way. That will be an interesting game because it is very possible that the 2 sides would meet a gian a couple of weeks after in that qualifying final like I mentioned before. I will actually be at House Brothers Oval in Unley again next Sunday, actually doing the Boundary Rider with LifeFM for the Sturt v Eagles clash so I'm looking forward to see if the Double Blues can back up their good form in the clash against a somewhat dissapointing Eagles outfit.
