Fair call D4E, personally I've always felt the same way as you, but it's a personal choice and as such there's no wrong or right I suppose ... We all have to be able to contend with some gut wrenching situations as supporters, thats just part of the deal and no-one is exempt from it .. Almost every time we go to the footy we should be aware it could be a day that produces an unforgettable high, or a devastating low that makes ya wanna go home and kick the cat lol .. In essence, thats why we all love the game/comp/our club!
