Cheers Smac,

I must have read straight through it...

Well done to the lads for a great win by the sounds of it, was hoping to get down this morning for a look but was in a bloody sales meeting for 4 hours :?

How did my "step nephew" Jake Haezel play ???

Might have to go to my first AFL game in about 3 years next week, not for the Power v Fre game but to watch our Under 15 boys...

Well done again to all involved, good luck in the final boys :D

I had the opportunity to play in the under 15s championships twice when I was a youngster - then known as the Samboy Cup - and it was a brilliant experience. Mixing with players from right across your league's zone, as well as those from other teams. A really good two weeks of footy.

Dogwatcher,

I too played "Samboy Cup" for Centrals, about 11 or 12 years ago now. Funny, I was only looking at our old team photo the other day with and was talking to Paul Thomas about it earlier in the week out out Prospect Oval for one of our 15's games. Certainly was a few familiar faces going on to carve out league careers, other drifted away and one guy in particular got injured, became fat and lazy and now just posts on an internet forum about Centrals and his past glories from when he wasn't too bad a footballer !!??

What year(s) did you play Samboy Cup DW, you might have actually been a team mate of mine. From memory, our coach was Doug Walters (from Eastern Park) and we had a big Aboriginal lad as our ruckman, think his name was Peter Jackson. Richie Cochrane was also in the same squad and a few other guys like Sandy Aigus, Mick Trembath, Terry Knowles, Shannon Gehlken, Shaun Gatto (and of course myself !!) were in the side...

PM me of you don't want to publicly divulge your personal info. Back on topic, it will be a great experience for the lads to play on AAMI Stadium, one they will never forget. I remember we played ours against North Adelaide before a Crows v Fitzroy game, from memory. Can't quite remember of we won or not (I didn't quite make the final 21, so was just a water boy that day :( ) but I do remember we kicked off at something like 10.00am and there was sooooo much dew on the oval. Once again, good luck to the Centrals lads next week in the final, might have to head along and cheer on my "step nephew" to a big win :D

I'm a few years older than you Phil. I played with/against a few blokes who went on to have good careers. Tagged Adam Heuskes on a wet day against Norwood, needless to say I got a bath.
But there's a fair chance that if you played in the same years as Richie Cochrane, my dad might have coached you at Elizabeth.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

Any news on the Norwood/Eagles metro game this afternoon? I would be surprised if Norwood did not win, but footy has presented us with results far more surprising in the past...

Good luck to whoever you play, I'll be there cheering Jake and the boys along...

Our best is good enough to beat Norwood, but we haven't managed to play our best in 3 games against Norwood this year (two trials and once in the champs). They would start pretty hot favourites IMO, but we have a couple of handy players to return to our team that were missing this week, one was missing due to being at the AFL indiginous academy this past week. We go in with some confidence I think.

SANFL still haven't put up any results beyond day 4, so I can't help there - Country GF was played on the weekend, but I have no idea who was in it, let alone who won it.

According to SL.org Glenelg gave Sturt a whupping, 89 pts to 29 in one semi final, and played WWT (who beat North country) in the Final, no idea who won.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Port v Fremantle, prob not. Anyone care to tip what the u/15s will add to the Port crowd figure tho? parents, teachers, neighbours, friends etc. Could almost be regarded as a "double header"!

With the friends and family of the Under 15s there will probably be twice as many people there than a normal Power home game.

At this stage the ticket allocation is 2 per player - 1 for the player and 1 for a parent. We are trying to get more out of the SANFL at this stage, but are not hopeful.
