sanfl round 17 south v port @ noarlunga

Postby bayman » Sat Jul 19, 2008 6:28 pm

well before today i would've said port easily but south were impressive against glenelg & if they play the same next week they'll give it a mighty shake, while port are playing for their lives, i think south in a close one
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

South can easily be the victor next week, there is nothing stopping that happening. Look we all know that they are not going to turn the competition inside out and they will still have highs and lows, just dont expect the lows to be so low, with the young players they have now, Rolfe, Redigolo, Crabb, Turner, Boyd, Williams and Carrol, as well as others in the reserves that are and have been pushing their claim, the experienced players have something to work with and protect. Clay has weilded a strong fist, since he has taken control of the football teams, and he will make hard and not to popular decisions amongst the group, but in the end, only those who are willing to bleed blue and white blood will be there next year., as it is said, sometimes you have to knock the house down for it to be rebuilt properly.

I South can turn up with the same intensity as last saturdays effort they should take it right up to the pies. South have unearthed some great young players who are not easily brushed aside.Port better turn up ready to play or they will definitely get a shock.

A few interesting AFL inclusions for both these sides this week, before their respective teams have officially been released...

DEFINATE CHANGES:

South Adelaide INS:
B.Lade - Ommitted from the Power side, Fabian Deluca in for him
South Adelaide OUTS:
A.McKay - Although he didn't play for South last week, but missed the Showdown, he is a definate in for the Crows this week

Port Adelaide INS:
P.Burgoyne - Was available for Power selection but was suspended by the playing group from the AFL game and will play for the Maggies
G.Johncock - Somewhat suprising, but was immitted by the Crows, will play for the Maggies for the first time in a few years now...

A couple of very good ins for the Maggies makes me think they should win comfortably. Port by 34 points for me...

Geez, they are some decent ins for Port. :? However, if they dont approach saturday's game with the right attitude then they will hinder Port more than help them. Should be interesting to see how they go.

Ladey is back in :D Legend.

South by a couple of goals.

The Panther forwards will be licking their lips if "G Johncock" plays in the backlines......his specialty is kicking the footy straight to the opposition!

Its pretty obvious that the adelaide based afl clubs havent done South too many favors this week. Sure we have Lade as an in but have lost Mackay and Otten to the crows. The Power dropping Burgoyne and the crows dropping Johncock to join Wilson in defence for the magpies wont help us much either.Otten must be dizzy, he plays one game for the crows, gets dropped and then is reinstated as a travelling emergency on no less then three occasions when the crows travel interstate. Apart from that when he has hit the field for the panthers he has proved to be one of our more consistent players.
The Panthers youngsters - Boyd, Redigolo, Carroll, Rolfe and Turner have showed they are all valuable contributors at league level. This week will give them a great opportunity to put them up against quality opposition and see how they measure up in the whole scheme of things.

I've just been informed that Jason Turner has severed ties with South Adelaide, has anyone heard anything about this?
