Anyone heard anything. Shoeboy do you know the reasons for Brad leaving?

My mail is lack of game time and the current changes have had an effect on many players? Plus the mighty $$$ and less commitment makes Victor attractive!

Such a shame. He should of conisdered changing clubs within the SANFL if not getting a go was a strong enough reason!

Im sure Saucy and that check book along with half the under19 sqaud from a few years back was a good incentive!

Didn't he win the Thomkins Medal for the Under 19's a few seasons back ??? From what I've seen of the lad, thought he coul play, had a bit of pace and used the ball well. I reckon he played a pretty good game against us out at Elizabeth last year, might have kicked 2 or 3 on Paul Thomas from memeory, which is not a bad effort I'd say...

I would have thought he would fit in with the new direction Clay wanted to take of playing young and local talent. Must be frustrated at playing 2's and like you say, the all mighty dollar talks, doesn't it. We've had the same think happen this year at Centrals with Alex Stengle, Chris Muslolino and Ben Woods giving up on an SANFL career for various reasons, but mainly the $$$

Stengle given up???
I played state footy with that bloke and he is a pure gun! Shouldnt give it up and surely his family, mainly his brothers would have to agree!
Such a shame that young guns get pushed away from their dreams because of being treated like shit!

Shame on the league clubs for letting this happen!

Let's not confuse the players impatience with them being treated like sh!t.

Alex has had opportunities that he didn't fully grasp and if he had persisted more opportunities would present themselves. History is riddled with good footballers who had to wait their turn and went on to quite respectable league careers. Nowadays the lure of cash is much greater than in the past, which doesn't help matters.

He did reconsider his decision a few weeks later, but was told that 100% commitment is required of all players and he had indicated he was not that by leaving for Kilburn.

this ground at murray bridge does the ground have elevation outside of the boundary ? if it has i'll make the trip but if it is like the encounter bay oval where these 2 teams played a few years ago it would be pointless as if you weren't on the fence you had no hope of seeing the game
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

What I meant to say was that the game where I got very drunk involved Norwood. So obviously the South game at Strathalbyn was another game where I got drunk. Actually this thread is very illuminating, I can actually remember the South game at Strath now, but I only had a 6 pack or something that day.
But I think Gadj has captured the mood of the Strath match very well with the phrase "Back in the days when, if we were competitive then we'd go away from the ground happy."
Very very true.

I vaguely remember Strath. I was a complete and utter mess by the end.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Can't believe there's no broadcast of the game today, no one else playing either. Sucks big time.

So where's the best place to get score updates? Anyone going to be receiving SMSes and posting them here? The SANFL website? The SANFL scores hotline (is that still in operation)? Other?
