Oh and to the Power fan saying to me you put two piles of nothing together and you have nothing .Well I will remember and I hope the players will as here about it as well.Just remember come finals will you still have your power players playing?

Ozzie the Eagles raffle man, was saying yesterday that he was asked out of courtesy not to do the raffle yesterday - I actually had $5 ready when I noticed him. He agreed not to do it because he said that Port Magpies don't get any of the takings from the Pokie machines at Alberton, and that the SANFL Port have basically been sucked dry by the PAFC.

While we lost at Alberton yesterday, our record has been quite good recently there. And other clubs don't have a lot of trouble winning there either making it not fortress that it once was. And the AFL Port certainly don't play like their creed implores either, that's certainly not what opposition fans think of when they hear the name Port Power.

PS: Ozzie has been selling raffles for 34 years, not a bad effort. :)

He said the same to me Spelly .He looked really relaxed yesterday .Lucky she didn't ask me I would have told her to hop on her bike .
But like some players I get white line fever
And if Ozzie is around and has a dig at a fan sitting in the stands its me :D .He has been selling the raffle to me since I started sitting in a forward pocket at oval ave many years ago.Old age has driven me up to the top of the stands or as I call it my Eagles Nest .when I win X lotto going to buy one of the boxes at the back of the stand .

I do enjoy his Crayons for Power fans gets a good laugh

Well coach if its come to that after 8 years , then its time to say goodbye with the knowledge that the time is right , just like our CEO John K. ! All the fans you speak to yesterday , even the cheer squad , are in agreement . Its not that your efforts are not appreciated re 06 , but when you cant fire the boys up again , especially after last weeks effort , it shows the message is not being recieved . Also , dropping Adam Grocke after a rock solid display last week is piss poor ! Your having a laugh if you cant see that hes our best CHF & could easily back up Dabrowski , like you asked Kenny Mc. to do later in the game . Look , honestly , Roberts isnt league standard & his stats yesterday of 1 handball defies belief ! Petrenko through the middle needed to happen early on , as every team knows we lack grunt & cutting edge there . Ron you have achieved all you can , lets part while were still on good terms . Take a leaf out of our CEOs book , so we can all start afresh .

I must say i was dumbfounded to why Adam Grocke was dropped, maybe thats why the reserves won & yes that may of had some impact on the result ( league ) but as senior A grade footballers why would they need the coach to get themselves up for a game? If you can't motivate & prepare yourself at this level then its time you gave it away, a coach can only do so much to motivate players, players not only the coach have roles to play aswell & if those players don't play there role to the best of there ability well its goodnight dick, as it was yesty.
So its not all Ronny's fault.

Totally agree. Players are professional enough these days to motivate themselves. Coach should need only to add finishing touch. Has Ron lost that though?

Ron's coach's comments on the club website - emailed to members earlier this week - well worth reading in light of the result at Alberton.

With all due respect CD , your having a laugh if you think Rons comments on our tame showing against Port are interesting ! What he didnt say now that was very insightful , talk about wallpapering over the cracks ! Remember when you were at school & it seemed like an eternity from year to year in regards to your home teacher , you know , having to listen & look at them almost every day ..........the year seemed never ending . Thats the feeling thats at the Eagles with Fuller now , & its players , members , fans & Im guessing some Board also . Its not personal towards Ron but all the indicaters point this way . Honesty is the key here , and hes holding a hell of a lot back from the members if thats the best hes got ; or reality hasnt set in yet ! The use of Grocke ( or lack of it ) is pathetic & shortsighted , ditto Petrenko & Fitzgerald too. Almost last chance next week at the HEN house , & where getting sick of no bloody crumbing players in & around Passador & Schwarz .

Micky - hopefully you did get the email - if not let me know.

Holden - appreciate your thoughts I reckon the first paragraph was interesting in terms of our inconsistency - which just isnt acceptable. as Ron stated

"... the result against Port Adelaide is a more reliable indication as to where we are at than the Central District game. We did play well against the Bulldogs, but it was as much about them having an off day than us doing anything amazing. As we have seen recently in the Norwood and Sturt games, Port Adelaide provided more resistance for us and we were unable to get any momentum happening. "

Totally agree with you re Prospect Oval clash next weekend.
