These figures put up a good argument for Sturt being right up there.
There have been plenty of polls over the years when the SANFL was a first-tier competition.
I'm pretty confident in saying Port first, Norwood second, Sturt and Glenelg neck and neck after that, then North not far behind, Central, Eagles, West and South last.

Just off the top of my head Elizabeth Oval's best ever crowd figure featured Sturt. It was 20,000+

Well there's no actual way of ever proving it .. At least these guys are trying to provide some reasons to support their belief.

Sure there are plenty of questions you could throw at the theory, but good on them for trying back it up with something factual.

Getting back on the topic, I still recall a Central v Sturt game drawing 20,000 to a match at the Ponderosa and for some reason 1984 is sticking in my mind.
