If you want a gauge of current support, you'd need to look at average crowds, not just for home games but across all games.
At a guess I'd say Glenelg.

Bayman I think your question needs a bit of context - if you just query overall numbers vs those who go to games, I reckon you'll get a different outcome than just looking at which clubs pull the most supporters to games.

I remember being told once by a club official that a survey found that Norwood had something like 1/4 or a 1/3 of the population barracking for the club as its nominated team. If only than was reflected better in our fluctuating membership nos of recent years.

Bearing in mind of course that the current Port Magpies are actually Ethelton a new club in the SANFL and Port Power are the continuation of the Port Adelaide Magpies in the AFL. So I do wonder how true blue SturtPeters Double Blue people are when they go with Port Adelaide?

I can't take credit for that, if it was a Coopers comp I would though.

I feel I can look at things from a non biased point of view, I feel whichever club is performing the best tends to get the most posts on SAFooty, I'd think Sturt and Glenelg would be leading the way and righfully so at the moment, North wouldn't be close IMHO.

I reckon Port would quite easily have the most supporters still, probably followed by Sturt .. Will never get a definitive answer to the question as you're only ever going to get a decent indication when a team is up and flying.

The sound of the teal velcro patches being ripped off the Port supporters gear is deafening. Expect the Port Magpies bandwagon to swell markedly over the next few weeks...

Also expect to hear why is Wilbur wearing 5 instead of 15????

Look at the records crowds in this state...from memory 7 of the 10 feature Norwood or Port.

I think Sturt would be third but only when they are winning.
Bays seemed to drop off the radar when the Crows came into existence.
Centrals must be getting close to Sturt though.
