rumour from prospect today

Postby bayman » Sun Jul 06, 2008 7:35 pm

'louie the lip' told me that brenton 'sticks' phillips WILL BE THE COACH of north adelaide next year & his mail is usually 95-100% accurate, he also stated that he hoped wakelin had another 'retirement party' at the end of this year as it was the best party he'd ever gone to
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Christ I hope not, Sticks sent Sturt gradually backwards the longer he was at Unley.
Personally I think David Tiller is the man! :D

So did Malcolm Blight at Adelaide but it was all Robert Shaw's doing IMHO.

Fairy Nuff...

I agree about Tiller Wedgie, would be better than Sticks who has been out of the system for a few years and has that terrible handball game plan (which I suppose did win them that Premiership I mentioned earlier!!)

Maybe with Darryl Wintle retiring at season's end, would he be the type of player who could step into coaching, Clay Sampson style...

Agreed. Although i'd be more than happy to take Tiller if we couldn't get Hart. I'd love to see Wintle as an assistant next year.

All a bit premature though as we do have a coach currently 8-[

I love Darryle Wintle but he's still too close to the playing group IMHO.
Ben Hart would be a good option but I till think David Tiller is the man, I can't even claim right to thinking of him as a coach too, it was someone else on the Roost but as soon as the option was presented I thought it was a great idea.
Jason Roe would be good tooo but he's pretty happy where he is now.
DAVID TILLER FOR NAFC COACH!! :D

I threw his name up when the "get rid of Jars, North imploding" post first came up...

Has a good reputation, knows the club very well and has been there for a while... Sometimes you have to reward these long serving assistants and reserves coaches who have been around for a while, especially when they are real club men...

Look at Roy Laird at Centrals, he served his apprenticeship in the 2's and took over when Clarko walked out. Has had pretty good results since, admittedly, with pretty good playing cattle throughout his tenure...

I think Scott Peter would make a good league coach, but that would only happen if Jars wasn't there next year. Is ANJ contracted next year ???

Andrew Jarman is on a one year contract for 2008. I agree with you that Scott Peters would make a very good league coach.

Surely if ANJ isn't contracted for next year he is history, the longer he's there, more players will leave.
