Eagles Gala Dinner 2008

Postby Wedgie » Sun Jul 06, 2008 1:58 am

I had the privledge of being invited to the Eagles Gala Dinner tonight at Aami Stadium, had an absolute ball and it was a pleasure to catch up with lots of people such as Wedgetail, CD and many others.
There was so many bargains to bid on it was unbelievable, we won a $100 gift voucher for jewellery, and got a $600 trampoline for $200 as well as many other things including a framed Crows print, a framed bottle of Eagles Premiership Port, and many other things.
Well done to Mark Passador and all the Eagles people involved with the gig tonight, except for the creepy fat Elvis impersenator it was a great night! :D
Only down point is John Kantilifatis announcing his resignation as CEO after 8 years as announced earlier this week in the paper, he and his lovely wife will be very difficult people to replace at the club.
Great to see people like Wayne Jackson there tonight taking interest in such a great club.
FORZA EAGLES! :D

PS I really enjoy getting around to different events for different clubs, Ive now been to Norwood, South, Eagles, North and Glenelg shindigs, time for you Central, West, Sturt and Port fans to invite me to a show to impress me further!

Nup, an according to Hypothetical Man on the Roost they'll be running at a loss, hopefully a message will creep through to some at North but I doubt it.
I picked up more bargains last night in 1 Eagles Gala Dinner than I have in 6 years of North Gala Dinners! :D

They were very shitty about the result, it is a very proud club and they did emphasise results like that would not be accepted and would be worked on.
I told CD I was disappointed the dessert was a pudding and not a donut!
CD did a bit of work behind the mike and was sensational at it, that man has flair!

Did someone yank my chain? Wedgie won't come to Elizabeth anymore but when We are playing The Roosters at home, I will certainly invite him up for some cake (as long as it is better than that bloody awful ginger cake that was on offer yesterday). PLUS copious amounts of beer, red & white & good tucker too! It must be a pretty good day out....I see you, Dutchy, have already stated that you WILL attend the next CD v Glenelg President's Luncheon!

Hypothetical Man wouldn't be another poster on the Roost of a different name would he?

It is strange that North are placing "more emphasis on the entertainment" this year, half the people that attend (like myself) spend most of the evening in the lobby and don't even watch the entertainment.

Always wished they had more North stuff at the silent auctions, usually there's only a couple things.
