Passador or Schwarze?

Postby spell_check » Thu Jul 03, 2008 8:15 pm

I've noticed a divided opinion here, which player should be in the full-forward position? Both have different attributes, Passador I think is the better leading forward, which Schwarze is the better pack marker. Or can they both operate out of the goal square, Passador leads, while Schwarze stays in the square.

IMHO.Pass will play at either HFF or in a FP halfway between FF and CHF.They were trying something like this in the seconds when Pass and Trent were both in the two's.
I will vote Ben for FF .Corey will be in a quandry on Saturday Ben or Mark ?

I'd like to think both could work together from the goal square or at least inside 50. On this years form, Passador is the better option, even though Schwarze has kicked bags of 8 and 7 and hasn't had that many games at FF. It is up to these guys and the coaching staff to work out how to get the mix right. That includes leaving enough players in the team that can run through the midfield to lessen the load on Treeby, Powell etc.

I said both in the square. If both fire on the same day, we'll beat just about any side by about 10+ goals.

Passador FF
Schwarze CHF or roaming around inside 50.

Passador close to goal is as dangerous as any other forward in the comp. I don't think he'd have the legs to play too much further up the ground, so you'd want to maximise his opportunities near goals inside 50. One of the best set shots going around...if not THE best.

Passa has kicked 35.6 from 6 games this year.
Not sure about Schwarze.

Proof enough that Passador deserves to be FF...

From about four games spelly ?
Interesting points above .Have watched the Eagles forward line with interest .I noted that Trent had trouble working with Ben.But when Ben swapped with Kenny. Trent worked well at CHF when Kenny was at FF.
Not sure why.
And with Adam at CHF Ben has worked well at FF.Take adam out i think Ben has problems being in the Forward line .
And Passador seems to work well with everyone .

I think having both of these quality Forwards in the Square may make the Eagles Fwd line a little topheavy. :D

Eagles have lost a few games this year, when they've relied too heavily on Passador and have gone to him at EVERY forward opportunity. Fair enough, in many of these games Passador kicked 5 or 6, but if you are an opposition side, and have to man up on Passador, Schwarze, Salter, Grocke, as well as the little fellas, then suddenly the Eagles look much more potent.

Bays forward line all year, as a comparison, has worked VERY well with Duldig, Grima, Sellar, McConnell and Bode as their key targets. Hell, how do you possibly cover all of those players.

You have hit the nail on the Head Tiger Boss .To much kick the ball to Pass or Ben .But last week the forward line worked well together including Klun crumbing goals fitzy was quiet though.
Having said that at least once Ben out marked 3 defenders .That is the big difference between the two FF's one can take the big high flying pack mark the other is the quick lead .Makes it hard for the defenders to man up and then if Kenny goes forward a much taller player that can lead and take pack marks.
