How many Eagles supporters from here are going join me at this event? :D

As for Lee, if he doesn't offer anything more than Roberts, why should he replace him? Roberts at least provides a back line option if we need it.

Schwarze will need to perform well again to keep his spot in the side ahead of Passador. Mainly his second efforts and leadership need to improve.

I just think there are far too many tall players in there. Am I being too worried?

ALBERTON OVAL
SATURDAY 5th JULY AT 2PM

The Eagles have included P. Stewart, Hentschel, Passador and Corbett to the squad of 23.

Colville is out with a hamstring injury and Broadbent is with the State U18’s.

FF KLUN SCHWARZE FITZGERALD
HF RIMINGTON SALTER A. GROCKE
C TREEBY McKENZIE JARRAD
HB PETRENKO McGREGOR P. STEWART
FB P. FIACCHI HIER HENTSCHEL
RUCK DABROWSKI POWELL WRIGHT
INT FROM ROBERTS CORBETT GEDDES DANIEL PASSADOR

RESERVES 11.15AM
EDWARDS, McENTEE, GIUFFREDA, D REDDEN, ARBON, R FIACCHI, ALLMOND, ELLIOTT, GOLDSWORTHY, STAPLE, HILL, JOLLY, MALINOVSKI, LEE, PAVLICH, LANE, McMAHON, GRAHAM, PINTO, J STEWART

Did P.Stewart play for the Power up in Darwin last week ?

With the Power having the week off with the split round, did he get the all clear from Port to play SANFL this week despite playing AFL last week ?

If that's the case, does it mean that other fringe players in and out of the SANFL can play in the local comp this week if they so wish or does Port / the AFl / the SANFL have to clear them first ???

It's a case by case thing up to the club.
Obviously most players would want a rest at this time of year but if in the Power or Crows opinion there's a player who could benefit from more football they'll get them to play.

This is a very important game for both teams.

A Magpie loss will be more costly than an Eagles loss....

Will be a desperate game of footy.
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

Wouldn't the split round count as a bye, there for any player that played for Power last week is not eligable to play SANFL this week?

I'm pretty sure he did Col D, I think I can recall watching him on the telly. I know he certainly didn't play for the Eagles last week...

Yep, Stewart played last week. Would have thought he'd have a break, but given he missed a fortnight previous to last game, they obviosuly think he needs more game time.

Agree spelly re too much height. It has been tough so far to work all those players in the same team.

I do however like the look of Wright and Klun in the team. I was impressed with them last week (along with 19 others mind you), and perhaps Wright could be what we are looking for in the centre to ease the load off of Powell and Treeby.

That Eagles side looks very good. No excuses if we don't beat Port on Saturday.

A good side on paper. We shall see. Two of our last 8 minor round games are at the neutral venue of alberton. Hopefully four points to us results.

I have a "guernsey" at the Magarey Room Chairman's Function at the Crows V Cats Match at AAMI, but sadly won't be there for the Eags the following night. Check under the table however, as there is always the chance that missus might have left me there.

I think the whole AFL-SANFL bye round situation is a bit tricky. Im pretty sure clubs need to seek permission from the AFL on which players they can send to the reserves.

A quick check reveals ten who played against the magpies last time are not in the squad for Saturdays game. Corbett will definitely play his first league match.
