WOODEN SPOONERS 2008

Postby mal » Sun Jun 29, 2008 8:06 pm

WHOSE GUNNA GET THE FIRST DRAFT PICK IN 2009?

Melbourne
West Coast
Fraudmantle

All on 2 wins after 14 rounds of football

Some of the first draft pick blockbusters to come
RD 16 FR V ML
RD 18 FR V WC
RD 20 ML V WC

ML
Just starting to hit thier straps, but have the worst %
Have several winnable games

WC
Last 2 games of the year will almost certainly lose
So will need to win some games and soon
What has happened to this mighty club n 2008.

FRAUDMANTLE
Keep losing winnable games and are the most disappoining side in the AFL
They are most unlikey to finish last, but then again ...

Those games where ML/WC./FR play are pivotal

PS
I hope the Frauds finish bottom [-o<

It's a shame Port have already won too many games.

I would like to see Freo finish bottom and I think they will, I despise that pathetic rabble.. and to think they are going to bring two more teams in.

Melbourne have improved and look like they could avoid the spoon which looked all sewn up not long ago.

Imagine the Dockers without Matthew Pavlich

He is a genuine superstar and in most other teams he'd be recognised as one of the finest players going around. Not too many players as good as he is IMHO. In fact i'd go as far as saying he would be just about the first bloke i'd pick if having to select a side from scratch.

I reckon it will be the West Coast. They'll be tanking more than the Demons, who have a history of not tanking and Fremantle who will try to tank but fail and actually win a few matches by accident.

I think its a good chance to be out of West Coast and Fremantle, I am not sure if West Coast have ever finished with the Spoon, yet anything is possible.

I think it will be a race between Melbourne and West Coast.

I think Melbourne will get it though, i don't think the ladder will change too much.

West Coast are playing the worst football of the lot at the moment.
I think Melboure will win enough games to escape them, they actually look like they want to play, and although patchy, at times have proven they can go with some of the better sides (Geelong, Collingwood, Hawthorn). Plus beating Brisbane, who many had tipped for top four not that long ago proves they could shape the 8. West Coast can look ok at home, but away from Subiaco are terrible.
Freo are too good of a side to finish bottom IMO.
So I think West Coast will finish bottom.

Freo managed not to win at home again to Essendon who also play inconsistent football.

The next Freo vs West Coast derby may well be a nil all draw.

That would be a dream come true!!

would think both WA teams will battle it out. With the best few young guys from the west they will be happy to get 1st few draft pics.

I would think west coast are more than capable of taking out that crown. But the problem is they have some good players that could stop this from happening.
