May I be the first then...

Firstly, well done to the Eagles. They played fantastic today. If they make the finals they will be dangerous.

As for Centrals though...SHAME SHAME SHAME

That's the best way to describe the league performance today. From the outset they were thrashed and never looked in the game. The second quarter was embarrassing not only going scoreless, but not wanting to have a shot at goal.

The start of the third quarter was some of the most disgraceful conduct I've seen from the league players. It was just downright thuggery - that may be acceptable at Port but it shouldn't be acceptable here. Sladey should be ashamed of himself getting himself reported like that - hopefully with a guilty plea he'll get a reprimand, but if he's rubbed out that's both captains out for stupid lacks of discipline. A few players should have been dragged during that time (like the Eagles did with Salter when he gave away that 50). It was all futile in the end as despite the gutter tactics, the Eagles just went on their merry way.

All up, a pathetic, inspid, disgusting effort by the team. The axe has to swing at the selection table - too many players playing on reputation and nothing else (if they want to do that they can play for the Redbacks). The reserves had a fantastic win playing the hard, tough brand of football Centrals has been famous for the past 8 years and at least half a dozen of them deserve to be rewarded for their effort today while half a dozen league players need to be punished for their effort today (and last week).

Now where do I begin??!! Maybe by asking where the bloody hell did that come from!!! With just a few three quarter games to our credit this year, the biggest upset of the year would have to be Ben Schwarze beating the Dogs himself!

Eagles 4.2 8.8 12.9 18.14 (122)
Central 1.4 1.4 4.7 5.8 (38)

Scores
Eagles: Schwarze 7.1, Salter 4.2, Klun 2.2, Rimington 2.1, Grocke 1.2, Fitzgerald, McKenzie 1.0, Jarrad, Geddes, Dabrowski 0.1, Rushed 0.3.
Central: O'Sullivan 2.0, Cowan 1.1, Lawry, Havelberg 1.0, Williams 0.2, Callinan, McCabe, Dutschke, Ware 0.1, Rushed 0.1.

Now Brucetiki, I don't know what would be a worse scenario regarding that early part of the third quarter - the players taking it upon themselves to do that, or Laird instructing them to do that. Emulating what Port used to do, completely backfired because for once our players kept their cool and did not do anything silly. I think that effort by Centrals in that stage of the game kept us from being complacent, because that was the biggest concern after being 46 points up at half time.

Onto the players - good luck to the umpires choosing the Magarey Votes, at least they know which team the 3-2-1 will come from. The votes should be out of the following players:
Luke Jarrad - Outstanding game, possibly even better than the South match, his marking, running and disposal was superb
Matthew Broadbent - This is why he should not be playing pointless scratch matches, excellent skills
Jared Petrenko - Lightning pace out of the backline, didn't put a foot wrong
Ben Schwarze - Outscoring the opposition off his own boot, his strong marking coming to the fore again, handy replacement for Passador, who should be coming back next week - but who will he replace!
Adam Grocke - Targeted by Centrals in the third (the Slade bump and report aside) he got up off the turf and dominated the forward lines in the third
Nick Salter - If there was a better marker than Schwarze in the team, it would be Salter. I don't know how many opponents he had, but in the last quarter, Goodrem was powerless really, with the midfield delivery and Salters' marking
Zac Hier - Jelly last week, the proverbial "Rock of Gibraltar" this week. He and McGregor took countless marks in the backlines
Ken McGregor - re Hier, apart from his performance last week
Luke Powell - As damaging as Jarrad
Jarrad Wright - First League game with his junior club, really impressed me, and that mark in the third does not come into that equation!
Mark McKenzie - Shows why he is called Mr. Versatile
Add another solid game from Fiacchi, Geddes playing well too, and that margin for those who did not see the game is why.

I could only say for Centrals that O'Sullivan played creditably.

All played well - not a single passenger today and extremely well managed by the coaching panel - was agreat effort and also to have Joe Pedler back to the club as our guest added to the day - after the game Joe claimed the win as due to his influence!!

Best Players at presentations
Fiacchi, Broadbent, Jarrad, MacKenzie, Scharwz with mentions to many including Rimmington who had a great day.

Colville slight hamstring strain and Malinovski in the seconds caried off on stretcher has been given the all clear.

Well done to the eagles =D> . A great effort, their pressure around the ball and player was awesome and their delivery to team mate was exceptional. It looked like they came out today fired up from last week and wanted to show they were a better side than last week.

As for the opposition, well it didnt look like any other team was playing the eagles.
Some players need to take good hard looks at themselves. I dont think we had any player worthy of getting any praise. The only highlight for me was Noodles screamer and subsequent bullett pass.
Alot of players just look like they are not trying, tackling=gone, chasing=gone, manning up=gone, disposal skills=gone, decision making=gone, discipline=gone, determination=gone, desire=gone, basic football skills=gone( i think we dropped atleast 5 chest marks). :(
I would be very suprised and disappointed if some players werent dropped next week.

Well done to the eagles once again. They really showed me that they are team that can still go a long way in this season.

And well done to Rimington too in the third, he was also targeted. He was knocked to the ground a number of times, but stayed clear of being reported, or reversing the frees. Which means that he has learnt from the North match. :)

yet another very dissapointing effort.yet as pathetic as we have been this season we still sit third, and as mentioned earlier, if a few of the younsters that are performing well in the B's are promoted and given the chance they deserve we may still salvage a little dignity out of the season.
and as mentioned earlier whilst we used the PAM's as a blueprint for succes there is absolutely no excuse to follow them into thuggery when things are not going well.that is completely unacceptable.

Well I would like to start by saying I had nice short chat with Big Phil while parking our cars pre game  .Had a great long chat with Ferret a brave man sitting on the cold concrete steps .Was nice to talk as normal with CD(who was smiling and didn't look like the weight of the world was on his back) and Columbo .Not to forgot the great Eagles ladies who are always there supporting the boys at the back of the stand .

Finally an Eagles team that played with Guts determination desire and dare I say it BALLS  !!!!
Will start with the seconds while they fell short at the final hurdle .Today they looked like a team as well almost but not quite the win perhaps next week for the two's.
The league side how can I begin Treeby started the game like a man possessed .Which must have spurred the other guys on .Powell played well except for some kicks.Wright was worth the wait .The pup was so quick down back .Kenny Mac looked so damn good done back.Heir improved greatly from last week.Klun proved a few fans wrong .Salter showed why he was drafted so good up forward .Grocke woke up after he was hit head high .This seemed to lift the other guys as well.
Rimmington what a player he was worth waiting a year to see him perform like that .He could have either won an acting award or been in the WWE.His falls while being snipped at were that damn good it made the umpire pay the FREES.Young Daniels showed why Ron is playing him he may not have had a great deal of touches but at least once he stopped 3 Centrals players take the ball away .Thats correct 3 dogs stopped by one teenage eagle player. And when going forward he actually looked at who was coming and placed a kick on a leading forwards chest .Matthew Broadbent I say his name and after watching him know why he was rushed straight back in a class act .He looks so much Mackenzie it aint funny .And Macca had a great game as well. And of course Luke Jarrad keeps throwing back in face what I said on here well done luke another great week. And Schwarze finally played at FF again and proved it is his best spot. A very special mention to one old timer Gav until you got injured mate you were still leading the way and making Centrals look old and u young. Every single time an Eagles player kicked a goal the entire team celebrated was worth watching.Today the EAGLES played like a team AGAIN FINALLY .What a way to get a hoodoo to end well done guys .

I am not going to bait the centrals faithful because they will all need their wind when they attend training at Elizabeth.Because like Dogger said when the doggies lose 2 in a row the fans have to attend training .Big Phil I am not certain you can do laps at present

He sure did .
Can you tell me Spelly what the hell is going on with that TEAM .What happened from last week to this week how did they turn it around .With the largest ever winning margin against centrals and the first H&W win for years !!!
I am still stunned from that win .The whole day was like watching the Eagles from say 2000 including the game style of the seconds .

I meant "how on earth did he mark it!" :)

Well, your guess is as good as mine. I dunno, perhaps in your post, Leigh Treeby maybe the answer. ;)

Speaking of records:
Biggest winning margin by Eagles over Central (84), previous biggest was 76 points in the 2006 Grand Final
Lowest score by Central against Eagles 5.8, previous lowest was 6.8 (44) in Round 5 2005
Lowest score by Central at Woodville, previous lowest was 5.12 (42) against Woodville in Round 12 1966
The lowest second quarter score by Central against Eagles, previous lowest was 0.1 (1) in Round 23 1999
It was the first scoreless quarter that Central has had at Woodville
Previous biggest losing margin against Central at Woodville was 63 points in Round 6 1993
