Rd 13 Port v North Preview

Postby MightyEagles » Sun Jun 22, 2008 12:01 pm

Given North's great recent record at Alberton, I'll give North the tick for this game.

This could be very close and Port a big chance. Port have a good line-up on paper and North could be unsettled with the likely loss of Allan to injury and could also possibly be missing Damon White and Nathan Lonie. Hargs playing his 150th could inspire him especially against his old club.

A North loss this week will snuff out the remote hope they have presently of grabbing a top 3 spot by seasons end.

Hargraves has been one shining light for Port this year, his team mates you'd think would pull there fingers out & make it a memorable 150 milestone for the bloke to look back on, Hargs himself will kick 10 goals.
That should end any chance of North finishing top 3, infact it may start a string of consecutive losses for North & cause more grief for Jars & Co on top of the already embarrassing inner turmoil down there.
Hope its a good day weather wise & isn't spoilt by sh!t conditions. Port by 23pts

Big Hargy always like to kick a bag against the Roosters, if he kicks 8+ the Pies will win.

To much unrest at Prospect and with the likes of White, Lonie and Allan possibly out, the Magpies will win this one comfortably unfortunately

Harg's 150! Good on you Hargy.

I'm in Sydney this weekend so won't be there to watch his 150th game. As I always say since he left, hope we win and hope he kicks all Port's goals.

D.White and Lonie out for North.
Wilson in for Port.

I think the Harg will have a big day out this Sat providing the weather holds out. Surely Port must win now.
North will be praying for very wet weather.

I'm not so sure Port will surely win despite Chocko giving the Magpies a helping hand with the Power in's and out's!

Delvins was unlucky getting dropped but it appears Allan is okay (I'll wait until he runs out before any further comment) but at least the selectors looked at the defensive issues and picked Gallman (a GF player from last year) and Grose for some size. I'm a little more confident than I was 2 days ago plus it has been 5 years since we lost at Alberton so lets hope that is a motivating factor as well as staying in touch with the leading pack.

From a Port perspective, i would tend to agree, i dont really go in confident at all these days. Its maybe a 50/50 match, although i'd have North as slight favourites.

I change my mind, looking at the weather & the ins & outs. The Maggots will win a slog.

As much as i'd like to see Port beat the Roosters this week, even with the INS and OUTS of both sides, I think North will just have a little bit too much class and experience and get over the line in a tough, hard fought battle.

North by 14 points...
