well i dont know what rain was about, i was at Marion at 4:45pm and got a call from a mate who said it was bucketing down south, but where i was it was blue skies. we got to the city and it didnt look as though there had been any rain.

thought it was hard to get into the game.

I can vouch that it bucketed down from south of Flaggy, drove home from a fine city to it raining at Flaggy then back to the city where it was still fine...many times it rains at Flaggy but at Darlington its dry

It was a very localised storm that only hit a few areas around the hills and southern suburbs yesterday afternoon.

Happy Valley Reservoir had 7.4 mm, Mt Lofty had 14mm but Belair, which is roughly half way in between, had no rain, along with the rest of Adelaide, apart from another small region near Lobethal.

Moral of the story: lf a game is being played at Adelaide Oval, check what the weather (and the forecast) is like there, not what it is wherever you are, even if you aren't that far away! I find the radar images at http://www.bom.gov.au very useful for such things.

How did the Snadgroppers play? Every interview Ive heard with Peter German ws him saying that the team simply wanted to get some pride back into the league. Not once did he even mention winning. The margin would suggest that they achieved their goal - a honourable loss. True ???

Wedgie, out of all the people I would expect to stay home for this match, you would be the last on my list.

There's no way I was heading out in that weather, I've never seen it rain/flood/hail so quickly in my life, I would have been lucky to make it around the block!
(Certainly wouldn't have taken my camera out in that weather)
I think we would have received something like 7-8mms in a very short space of time, there's a quick mention of it on page 2 of the 'Tiser today. Weirdest thing I've ever seen, when I got home about 3.30pm it was black as a dogs gust over the hills and this thunderstorm actually went in the opposite direction to the way the weather normally heads and created havoc! 99% of the time weather we have here is the same if not more moderate than what's on the flats.
With the prospect of drinking XXXX gold in that weather or Coopers Pales at home in front of the fire it was a no brainer.

If it was today or tomorrow I'd definately have gone as it looks nice outside today although half of my garden is still underwater!

That's amazing, because I just thought it was a running joke! There's no way most of the rest of Adelaide would have known about it, given the fine weather during the day and also at night.

I quite often check the radar on there, but I thought there was no need to given the fine weather and how still the breeze was.

Nice win by the SANFL guys, still think that Lindsay should have played. Was also nice to see the flags all together. We were spose to get the yellow floggers from Glenelg, but they didn't turn up and only had red and blue floggers.

Mmm.. i was disappointed about that aswell, would have added some nice colour.. ahh well not to be, next match we'll have to organise it better... thought we done well considering it was organised in around a week!

The WA player who was reported last night (Keevers I think ????) had his hearing after the game last night (11pm) in front of the SANFL commision, and got off
I wonder if he would have been so fortunate if ha had to wait to face the WAFL tribunal when he got home? the replay on the big screen last night looked pretty damning.

WA played well; had intensity for pretty much the whole match. They played like they wanted to win. Sad that the same can't be said for SA. At times they lacked passion and looked like they didn't want to be out there. I think that if SA had approached the game with the same mindset as WA, then they'd have won by 10 goals again.

I think that's fair enough. Sure, the elbow was raised a little but if there was any contact it was only a graze. Free kick maximum.

If this is infact true, it would be due to church commitments that he couldn't play, & he also was headed to a neighbouring country to rebuild an orphanage that got burnt down...
