Talk on the national game

Daniel Motlop

I was amazed to see him thump the turf after not being paid a free, and seeing a Richmond player clear the ball away by going past him. This being in the last few minutes of the match when the game was on the line. Would it be overreacting to drop him for the next match, because I think that doing that in a teams perspective is not on.

I would drop him, i thought although he kicked 6 goals, his performance was sh1t.

He always seems to get the cheap easy goals and when the going gets tough, he wants nothing of it.

Only decent player the Power have, I'd love to see him dropped.
6 less goals to the Power tonight and they'd get even less people to the game than they do now! :?

Drop Daniel and you might as well as drop the entire concept of a Port side being in the AFL.

Flashes of brilliance only.
Honestly Wedgie he's a sook & a very selfish footballer.
Probably better off being at Nth Adel.

Nothing wrong with the 6 goals, but his sook after not getting a free and at the same time a Richmond player going past him with the ball kind of sums up the players that get picked for Port. All the hard nuts for Port are in the SANFL.

Agreed, that way he can play finals for North and the Power can drop even lower on the table below Melbourne.
A win-win for everyone! :D

Seriously though, you've got to feel sorry for the poor bugger.
The bloody AFL's a meat market.
Imagine how much better off he'd be if he got to stay with the Kangaroos.

Imagine how much better off Rodan would have been if he stayed with Richmond.

Good call.

How many PAYING people went to the game tonight?
5, maybe 10 thousand people?

You take players like Motlop out of the side and it'll be less than 2k.

I seriously hope Port are rewarding him appropriatey. I'd pay money to go watch Daniel play, but the rest of the team I wouldn't waste a bottletop on.

I'm not sure about people paying money to watch his opponent run past him with possession while he lies on the ground sooking for a free, that sort of sh!t turns the supporters away.

I reckon they'd tear down Alberton if they dropped Motlop, so Port should do it ha ha.

Certainly i blame the coach!!!!!!!

1. Selections are terrible
Surjan out (tough footballer)(port soft)
Lower in round 12(tough footballer playing well all season for Norwood)
Thomson unplayed(up there with the toughest and best in the SANFL and more than capable of playing AFL)
Bentley unplayed(tough disposal lts him down a bit but does the job)
White unplayed(apparently competeing hard and winning his position for north)
Westoff overplayed(shadow of lasty year. Timid, soft, young sum up his season)
Pearce over played(burns the footy every chance he gets, soft as P*ss and would struggle to get a game for the sturt reserves this year if he wasnt on the port list)

2. Coaching panel soft
Williams is arrogant and pig headed. His assistant coaches are to scared to speak up and voice an opinion. I have heard from an ex players mouth "if you have a falling out with Choco, good luck getting a consistant game and a fare chance"

3. Playing an injured player
Playing CHad Cornes injured and him picking up added injuries only lets down the team as a whole. IT not couragous its not tough its stupid!!!!!!!! I would love to man up in a guy with a broken finger, stuffed knee and calf strapped from his knee to ankle. Anyone of the other listed port players sitting on the sidelines could have performed better...They only just lost that added 20% of fitness to another player could have got them over the line.

How could Rodan be better off at Richmond? They delisted him FFS.

How could Motlop be better of at the Kangaroos? They traded him FFS.So,without Port picking them up they might not be playing AFL footy at all, what stupid comments.
