If the Grand Final was next week and let's say it was Central v Glenelg, I know who I'd have my money on to win the game...

Although still not 100%, the Dogs proved yesterday that their "bite is back" and I reckon if the Glenelg that played Norwood fronted against the Doggies that beat Port, Centrals would probably win by about 4 or 5 goals. Plus, the other thing, if it was a GF next, i'd have no doubt we would bring back Ian Callinan, Chris Gowans and Charles Slattery into the side, only making us stronger...

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Dogs v Bats GF for 2009, would be a cracking game I reckon. BUT, realistically, I know there is still plenty of footy to go before we get to finals and we all know that anything can happen. I'm now really looking forward to the clash between my 2 "potential" grand finalists in about a month out at Elizabeth. Even some Byas fans are saying they haven't really done anything as yet and their real challenge and test will come when they face a near full strength Centrals at Hamra Homes in Round 12, June 21...

GO U DOGGIES...

This week's Messenger Sports Blog has been uploaded ... There has been no shortage of drama in the opening 10 weeks. Also, is the top five set in stone? The Eagles are far from done this season, don't write them off because Norwood are no certainties.

This week's Messenger Sports Blog has been uploaded:

TWO questions emerged from a bumper game at Unley Oval on Sunday. Is Norwood really good enough to play finals? And is Sturt good enough to seriously challenge for the premiership? The answer to both is yes. But don't put your house on it yet.

Also in print and online this week:

HE was the original Adelaide Crows cult figure and life after AFL has been anything but dull for
Wayne Weidemann. An amateur premiership at Gaza, followed by four years of hell at West Adelaide. But now, at 41, The Weed has rediscovered his love for the game, coaching and even playing at PHOS Camden.

It's a fine article you've written (albeit the date at the top says 11 April 2008 which threw me a little).

However, there are no archives-- so far as I can tell none of the earlier articles from this year are accessible. (If they are, I can't work out how.)

I think including an ability to access archival entries is pretty essential for a blog. (Not having them there also has the effect that most of the public responses make no sense because they're not next to the article that the person was responding to.)

More simply, I'd like to have a look and see what you've written before!

Cheers,
Simon.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately the April 11, 2008 date is a function of our current "old" website that only allows us to refresh the same item each time, obviously with different text etc.
Therefore we're unable to archive old blogs as well. However sit tight, in about one month Messenger is launching its brand new websites -- to be updated DAILY with our top stories. Archived blogs will also be added.

This week's Messenger Sports Blog has been uploaded. Glenelg, Sturt and Central District will fight out the premiership. The others are only making up the numbers. What do you think?
Also online, find out which AFL-listed players have qualified for the SANFL finals and whether the Crows or Power will be letting them play.
Also don't forget Race to the Magarey -- who we think are the front runners.
