8th South - 1176 (down 25% -386 on 2007 - 1562)

Any know the Central District figure ? Dogwatcher ? Big Phil ?

Port have been #1 in Membership since I started keeping records in 1999
Is this the year Sturt can knock them off the top?

Westies seem like the major improvers of your list Phil, will be interesting to see if the club improves on that figure next year, I am tipping most likely so!

The bandwagoners aren't just attending they're signing up.

Bays broke last years membership numbers yesterday with a few people joining as members. Now 1959 compared to 1942 for 2007. The club's aim is to crack* 2000 this year.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Well done Bays - thats 4 up, 4 down with 1 unknown (Central District).

As for Westies that is a great effort for a team coming off a hat trick of wooden spoons. In 2007 their Junior Membership "Young Bloods" was made free and I think they have really worked that this year. Also no one wants to be last in these standings and West were 400 behind 8th last year thus needing to focus on membership as a high priority.

That said my daughter (& now son) have been participating in auskick clinics in the West metro zone for 4 years now and besides a lovely Red & Black mini football we have received nothing from the club to enourage her to be involved either as a member or going to a game. I believe this is the rule accross the SANFL rather than the exception.

No, that's not the reason.

But the reason is as secret as the numbers themselves.
