I really, really hope this isn't true but it seems that it has come from a few sources so perhaps it is. Suffice to say I feel sick reading all of this, probably sounds stupid but when you have invested so much emotional enegy in a club for so long this is really just like a kick in the guts. I would like to hear what happened but if Jack has walked due to any sort of interference from the Board or the players then as far as I am concerned they should all be sacked.....

I am just at a total loss at the moment, feel totally gutted.....what are we doing????? Why do we always do this to ourselves?? Will stop now before I do say something I regret.... ](*,) ](*,) 8-[

Good work,we all need to help out when it comes to saving water.

On a serious note, what is going on down there*. "The board" for want of a better term appear to be completely immersed in their own agendas and not that of the clubs ultimate goal of winning games/premierships.

Jack was only ever a quick fix and showed a lack of forsight IMO.

If the board's interference is behind this latest debacle (this being perhaps the most serious yet), it's time they were shown the door.

What a complete waste of time the external review was.
Have the board not learned anything? If this is the case, what the hell are they thinking?
Jack was supposedly brought in to clean out the club (for the better) and was supposedly given free reign to do whatever he had to do to put steps in place to achieve long term success.

If the board are behind this, heads should, and will roll.
I'm still dumbfounded that this sort of bullshit can happen YET AGAIN.

If it's exclusively a board problem, the total lack of respect shown by Jack to the players and supporters is also a disgrace.

I'm thinking back to Knuckey Cup last year, when we heard the spiel about how committed to the cause he was, and how the supporters should prepare for some bad times but to "be patient".
Cut to Jack walking out on the club himself 8 rounds, taking Michael Taylor with him, and leaving the club in arguably it's biggest black hole in history.

Weak as piss.

No statement made yet by the club or Cahill according to the "Tiser" this morning. The reasons behind Jacks walkout will be very interesting to say the least

This indeed a shattering blow to the club. If the board a responsible for this as is rumoured there should be a special agm called asap.
As for posters on this site making smart arse suggestions re a merger etc. guess what your not even funny. Keep your nose out of other peoples business and worry about your own clubs. I can assure you that while there is blood flowing in my veins it wont happen.

Geez lighten up - you can't expect other club's supporters not to make comment when things like this happen especially when it involves an absolute basket case club like South who have sunk lower than any other club for off field stuff!

As for a merger - who would want South?

No one seems to have considered the possibility that he was undermined by someone(s) other than board members or players.

Don't worry B&W we (Glenelg) wouldn't even countenance a merger with South, a takeover yes a merger not on your life....

Any truth in the rumour that they dug up CC Kingston to make it easier for him to roll in his grave?

In all honesty one does feel for the supporters and rank and file members of South Adelaide who would be feeling sick in the guts at this latest development. As someone who had recently come out of the 2000-2005 epoch in the Glenelg Football Club history it aint fun.

However zero sympathy for the South Adelaide Football Club itself. How many f***ing times do they have to change the board to get it right? Crikey it sounds like every two years there is a clean-out and a "new era" but they must go to the same well each time to get board members.

However I must thank South it was board members interfering that sent us the man who turned around the Glenelg Football Club in 1966 and lead to our most ever successful era. Is it a coincidence that he was their last premiership coach?

Maybe this is a club that moreso than any other (I know my club ain't perfect hence the word moreso) is doomed to eat itself every couple of years to continually consign its supporters to misery?

LMAO ot our worst ever coach (Brenton Honor - Football Operations sub-committee chairman) interfering/ telling Jack Cahill how to coach....
