This "let's delete our last post" thing isn't going to happen, is it?

Yes, we are frustrated and we can't go on blaming the draft as other clubs lose them also. It comes back to who doe's the recruiting and questions must be asked as to why Westies have been so poor at it the last 2 -3 years.
Anyway Centrals should win comfortably, too big, strong and definitely a much more skill full side. Hopefully West will come out with fire in the belly and at least show some competitiveness.

they will mate dont worry...but i dont think they can beat the Doggies, unless we have a shocker..

The SANFL has realised its mistake by putting all the Port players up as West players against Central this week and has reshuffled the line up.

Hutchins .. Nartin .. McCormick
Williams .. Schell .. Switala
L.Westhoff .. J.Gowans .. Thomas
Goodrem .. Lawry .. O'Sullivan
Ware .. Havelberg .. Cowan
Giles .. McCabe .. Slade
I / C from Mackenzie, Dutschke, Faulkner, O'Hara

with any apologies for the confusion caused by this error

[disclaimer - the blaming of the SANFL for this mistake is a way for me to save face. It was, of course, not their fault, but they're bigger than me and they can take it!]

West fans, Giles dropped?

Was in good form only 3-4 weeks ago, then his game time was reduced, now he's the lone omission from a team that lost by 99 points?

Hey FootyFans,

For those that are interested, here is the reserves team listed in todays Advertiser, with a few glaring ommissions that I will touch on further in a minute ???

RESERVES: Aufderhiede, Baldwin, Barmby, Brading, Cole, Duncan, Edwards, Hadden, Foldesdey, Hudson, Kelly, McGee, McGrath, McShane, Musolino, Porter, Sharpe, Shaw, Spurr, Whiley, White, Woods

I've got last weeks Budget on me and if my memory serves me correct, the following would be the INS and OUTS from last weeks victorious team coached by Damien Hicks:

INS:
Cole
Edwards
Foldesdey
Kelly
McGee
Sharpe

OUTS:
Stengle
Boyle
Moss
O'Hara

???????????????????????????????????

Obviously there are a few extra INS than OUTS and a couple of the INS are also listed in the Under 19's (Foldesdey, Kelly and McGee) which tends to happen most weeks anyway. BUT...

I'm hoping that someone from the club with a bit of inside knowledge can shed a little light on the reasons for the outs. Let's just hope they are ALL injured (must have been on the training track, I didn't see anything in the game at Woodville last week) as the worring thing for me is the quality of OUTS listed above, starting with Alex Stengle. Stinga has been in career best form and getting close to B.O.G nearly every week, surely being close, as with O'Hara, to at least getting named in the League squad. I just worry that, like has happened in the past with plenty of examples, these young lads are getting frustrated at being deprived to further their footy at League level and may start looking elsewhere ??

No with Stinga, as he is close to Adrian Wilson (who in a smiliar position, but probably also had fitness issues last year, deciding to give up on SANFL and go to kilburn with some of his mates and relatives) I worry he could fall into this category ?? I'm sure I'm just getting ahead of myself and reading too much into it, but I hope someone as talented as Alex (as was the case with Whoopie) don't just give up on go play locally with buddies and relos ??? Someone, please set me straight and just tell me they are injured or just unavailable this week ???

Now onto Dan Boyle, who by the way is very impressive, despite trying to do a bit too much with the ball sometimes. Once again, I just hope he is injured as well (I did look on the Power web site and it didn't say anything about him, but it only gets updated every Monday so if injured during the week at training, it wont say anything of course) beacuase we really don't want him getting frustrated at his lack of League opportunity trying to further himself and his AFL career. Again, I hope he is just injured and I'm sure I'm looking too much into it, BUT, we have seen similar things happen to us in the past with both Bowen Lockwood and Jacob Surjan. They requested a switch of SANFL clubs (ironically, both to Port Magpies) because they felt they weren't getting a chance in the league side. I double checked both the Maggies reserves and league list this week, no Boyle listed, thank god !!?? HA HA...

Not as worried with young Mossey because he is a local Centrals boy anywyay. I know he had some issues with foot stress fractures or something like that earlier in the year so maybe something has just flared up again and the Crows medical staff suggested him to rest up ?? Again, just assuming he is injured, would be great, like I say, if someone who may know more than most of us, can shed any light on all three of the boys i mentioned above. Obviously O'Hara not being named in the ressies means he is very likely to make his debut, maybe Noodles is gonna rest up after pulling up sore ? Who know, guess we'll just have to wait and see tomorrow...

Anyway, better get back to doing some work now I figure my lunch break is proabably over !!??

For All Doggies Fans,

I knew my gut feeling I had this morning (as detailed above) was too strong to pass off as nothing...

I just found out tonight, through a very reliable and proven source, that impressive Aboriginal boy Alex Stengle has left the club, deciding to quit Centrals, telling team mates after training Wednesday night...

Very frustrating and disspointing from my point of view (no doubt worse for Alex) as his reasons for leaving are due to being deprived of further opportunities at League level (should be used to it, happens every year basically) !!!???

Alex played maybe 3 or 4 games at League level over the last few years as a crumbing half forward but this year had moved to the backlines and was getting close to BOG every week. I think he was a little unlucky to not at least get named in the league squad at times throughout the year and to a degree, understand his reasons to leave. I guess his patience just wore thin and maybe the icing on the cake for him was the fact that Brayden O'Hara, who has also been dominating in the reserves, is probably getting his league opportunity this week and Alex was not at least in the mix ??? Real shame, nice young lad, great footballer and a massive blow to reserves team and the club to a degree.

I haven't heard as yet whether he is going to another SANFL club, not sure if anyone else from any other club knows anything further, but I wouldn't be suprised if he ends up playing out at Kilburn in the Amatuer League. The reason I say this is that I'm pretty sure a few of his fellow Indigenous mates (and possibly cousins) are playing out there with the most obvious one, funnily enough someone who was in the same position as Alex now, being former Centrals player, Adrian 'Whoopie' Wilson (I think they might be cousins). Alos, I think Alan Jones (not the car racer but ex Centrals and West reserves player) is also out there along with a few of the Agius boys (could be wrong ??) I think his junior club might have been Salisbury North and obviously they are a Div 1 team with pokies so they may be able to offer him some decent coin (considering the fact that don't ressies lads only get about $75 a game and can make up to $500 a game locally ??)

Just a real shame to see such a talent go to waste in local leagues (if he doesn't end up at another SANFL club) and as with the case with Adrian Wilson, would be somewhat of an injustice to have these calibre of blokes runnning around in Division 3 ??!! Div 1 you could understand, especially with some of the money on offer, but in saying that Kilburn have the slots as well and know they can pay alright for the right bloke.
Anyway, like I mentioned before it has happened so much to Centrals in the past (T.Cook, B, S.Walton, J.Coulter, N.Prokopec, M.Kreig, C.Gogoll, B.Lockwood, J.Surjan, S.Brooks, M.McClean, A.Wilson, A.Stengle, C.Mullins, B.Britton, J.Casserley, M.Demasi, C.Norsworthy, D.Pfitzner, D.Wakelin
I'm sure the list can go on and on...) that we should be used to it by now. I'm disspointed personally because Alex was a nice bloke and was really playing some awesome footy in the reserves do far this year...

It's weather like this that causes major upsets. Could be a close one today, also could see South, Port & Norwood getting home as well......
