naming of sides

do we think the AFL will ever penalise clubs for naming players who never were going to play.

even though the swans smashed the tigers, I picked the swans by under 39pts, but if I knew that Kellaway and Hall were out I would of changed mybet to over 39pts

given the AFL are keen to improve their relationship and the deal with betting agencies, as punters we need more transparency with team selection..

I am not to fused with naming a side out of position, but surely the 22 should be named on the evening prior to the game, instead of these late omissions to players who were never going to play

I understand where you are coming from SD but with this one I am with the clubs. I think clubs have the right to chop and change players in and out of their side up until they have to exchange team sheets.

If you miss out on tips like I have in the past too bad.

If the bookies or the punters get stung by a club changing a player at the last minute, so be it. That is the risk you run gambling on footy.

I would hate to see a club have to play or be stuck with a named squad when a player gets injured at the last training session, or they are waiting until the last minute for a plyer to recover from a virus or a plyer comes down with a bug on the day of teh game.

five words

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I don't have issues with late changes, coaches may not know until the morning on what structure or mix they want to go with and weather conditions may be a reason for this, my concern is the naming of key players that clubs know mid week have no chance of getting up for the game, surely 24 hrs before a game clubs know if a player will be fit, they should only name fit players........

Do they honestly believe that by naming unfit players with no intension to play this will efect the result of the game or give them the jump

I think that its more of a case that they delay making decisions about key players - like Hall until the last minute hoping that the come up in time for the game.

if you are hoping that a player might come up in the morning of a game you are taking a huge risk, for me if they can't prove their fitness a day before the game, it is a huge risk
