2008 Season is very even

Postby Jimmy » Mon May 12, 2008 4:06 am

Just looking at the ladder and its certainly turning into a very even season with some new teams sticking their hands up to get noticed.

Still early but I hope it carries on towards the end of the season and into the finals.

This is off the top of my head but the matches played between Glenelg, Centrals, Eagles, Sturt and North so far are:

Glenelg : 4-0
Central: 2-2
Sturt: 2-2
Eagles: 1-3
North: 1-3

I'll stand corrected on the table but it's a good indication of where it's all at so far. Bays looking good, Eagles and North need to start winning against the other 3.

Interesting they have all played each other already, suggests to me that the gap between the top 5 and bottom 4 will widen over the next few weeks. Well done the SANFL for seemingly programming games within the groups like that it's kept the bottom 4 looking closer than maybe they really are?

What is interesting is that even though the Eagles lost, went up a place into 5 spot only because North lost as well, but by more.

I agree with your summation Hondo. I am hoping that the fact that our 2 losses were away games and we play them (the winners) at home next plus we can do the usual and gradually improve will see us firmly entreched in the top 3 by seasons end.

Excellent post Hondo .. Sadly I agree with all of that, just hope my boys can somehow surprise us all, but as has been said you would be pretty confident that the combo of Sturt, Dogs, Bays, North and Eagles will play for the money.
