I went along to this game and Glenelg were impressive. They were a class above North and look as good as any other side going around. Rudolph (number 15) was fantastic in the back line. Hinge looks a different player to what I've seen previously - he was awesome. Bode is a master at getting in the right positions and Backwell was in everything and I thought shared b.o.g. honours with Rudolph. They also have some toughnuts like Allen who compliment the runners well. Grima also looks a handy pick up at Full Forward. North looked average. They're too good not to be around the mark, but would want to show a bit more desperation to replicate or improve on last season.

He went up to the secutity officer and told him to head around behind the goals because I assume there was a bit happening in the crowd in that area.

Yes, in true Weslo style he wasn't moving quick. At three quarter time, they (ABC) were showing a couple of police officers going over to a North fan.

i was over on that side of the ground & a north supporter & 'his group' (you know the big bald headed abusive bloke) was THROWING more than abuse at the umpires (goal) & the field umpire as you know stopped the game for the security of the umpire(s) & at 3/4 time (which was 5-10 minutes later) they were all escorted from the ground

this bloke we know has been in trouble before & perhaps instead of kicking him out of the grounds evey so often give him a warning that if any incident happens again he will be barred firstly for a year & if he does anything wrong after that he gets banned for life (this should apply to any fan from any club)

I assume that was the Northern side? We saw a couple of cops at the Southern End which surprised me but they seemed to only be catching up with some mates.
"this bloke" you refer to posts on here so it might be interesting to get his side of the story.

We haven't had a good record with goal umpires, a goal umpire complained to the SANFL (who referred it onto North) about the abuse he copped last week down the end I stand, he was called some names when he made an obvious mistake, he was a 'smaller' gentleman and typical of someone with little man syndrome got a bit upset when his height was referrred to. Getting a bit precious these days aren't they?

North actually played good footy for about 35-40 mins but the other 60 odd was soft, unaccountable crap.
Bays were too good, had better structure and are a more genuine side than North.

Thats why the Bays shouldn't be cheering too loud, should have won by 70 plus but they also had a lot of down time and unimpressive footy, just there up time was better than Norths

Don't worry we're not. The Glenelg cognescenti are more than aware that we aren't firing on all cylinders and that we have a few areas that need to be looked at and improved on....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

i think north dont have to worry yet. will still make the top 3. we usually always lose at glenelg oval
norwood and eagles the next two rounds. will be 5 and 3
then have sturt, west and south pretty good run for the next 5 weeks beat sturt and we are right back up there

Wouldn't surprise me, if he's more worried about the fact of where we're playing and that we kicked a lot of goals than the actual game result its no surprise we'll continue to be mediocre.

Should never have been dropped.
Should be back up next week but not a favourite of Jars.
A couple of others from the Ressies should be put up too.
There's a young indigeneous kid called Wade Thompson who is built like Byron Picket but is quick and good at kicking goals like Matty Campbell, hopefully will be up this week.
Gill and Coulter will also come back this week I'd imagine.
Hopefully Ward, Clarke and Ladhams arent too far away.

Obviously a lot of talent there but Im still not convinced even with a full side that we'll finish higher than 5th.

From what I understand Wedgie, you're right about him being dumped unfairly.
He's been a solid performer for you guys.
A bit removed from the A grade, but Cohen Thiele has been back playing with Loxton after being told in the past year that he was a 'project player' by ANJ.
Is there something in the axing of both of these guys from their respective sides at Prospect?

Dunno mate, Stribling was also playing amateurs on the weekend too.

Jars' favs never get dropped no matter how many bad games they play, the one's who aren't Jar's favs (usually for no reason too) get dropped even when not even being close to the worst player.
Schuey would be one of my (and 95% of supporters) first players picked every week.

that big bald headed abusive would be me bayman.

i would like to know what u mean by throwing MORE than abuse?

the abuse i (and not only me) was throwing was at the boundry umpire for not keeping up with the game.the ball was clearly out of bounds and all the players stopped even the bay players, but, i think it was bode who juggled it and kept running.the boundry umpire was way behind and guessed it was in.even the bay players chuckled at it whilst the north boys were pointing out his obvious mistake.we in turn reminded him of his mistake and mind u so did other supporters along the boundry on the outer side.3 mins later it went into the exact spot just left of us and once again the boundryumpire was way behind and didnt have a clue if the ball was out or not but the goal umpire signed out of bounds.we were actually applauding the goal umpire for knowing how to umpire.
yea we did carry it on a bit , partly out of frustration that the bays got a run on.weslo was actually sticking up for us to the umpire as they told us whilst escorting us out, about feeling threatened. saying they will calm us down.
if they threw everyone out for abusing an umpire there wouldnt be anyone there plain and simple.

goraw, after boundary umpiring an A grade game 2 weeks ago, let me tell you that keeping up with the play is no easy feat- & I am fit.
In fact, it's inpossible- especially at SANFL/AFL level.
I thought me might or may have had 4 Boundary umpires? 1 for each point of the square, sharing half of each side of the oval?
If not, that's the direction we need to go in.
Yeah, it might be fun to rubbish the Boundary Ump's but they are baing asked to achieve the impossible.
