I realise that port are having a shocking run with injuries but would their coach be in any danger of losing his job during the year or even at the end of the year ?

There really does appear to be something lacking under his coaching, its hard to pinpoint exactly what it is though.

its a tough one as much as i loved and respect Timmy Ginever as a player and Captain he just doesnt seem to have it......but in saying that Port have recruited poorly and have been racked by injuries..................................

the sad part in this saga as a Port Supporter, the once feared club is no more!!!!!...........wot we do to rectify this situation i dont know, but i get the feel there maybe alot going/gone on behind closed doors that has really impacted on player performance...............and the question remains if we change coach will that fix the problems and I guess in short the answer is no.....

Timmy wont get sacked mid year. Port dont sack coaches mid year. I'd be incredibly shocked if he was given his marching orders mid year and to be honest I wouldnt agree with it in the slightest.

I dont believe he has lost the players or anything like that, but geez it would be nice if we could have a steady list instead of picking up crucial injuries every year.

Weve lost games by 20, 2, 3 and 22 points. 2 we should have won but for bad kicking and last nights game we had no bench at half time. We arent far off. A stable senior list would go a long way to fixing that. Its hardly crisis time just yet.

I do think that if we fail to make the finals this year then his coaching career could be over.

That's true, but they've never been in a situation where they've had to consider it ... except Cahill being replaced by Williams mid-1996 due to Power's inception in the AFL. I'm totally against sacking coaches mid-season unless he proves himself to be a basket case. I don't think Ginever is anywhere near that point.

With Respects. Having seen the opening game (Yes against Central's) the Port Players were only a goal down with 5 minutes to go, two late goals and it looked worse than it should have for them.

Fact is, results is what the caper is all about. Unfortunately Tim probably won't be there next season, unless the slim finals door is reached. Likely to pick up another coaching job either locally or in the VFL. He's probably a better coach than the list provides him with. It's simple 5 other clubs do have better playing lists this season. It looks as though this early out, Sturt, Glenelg, Central, North and the Eagles are the top half of the draw, the others not.

I dont know specifics, but my guess would be lack of opportunity due to other forwards such as Hodges being in the side, but i dont know exactly what the circumstances were.
