Pick on someone your own size Alleway you big tough man.

That's drawing a pretty long bow mate, it is just an unlucky footy injury - the kind that happens when two blokes of such different height collide.

Yep and Skipworth and Campbells arms just got tangled aswell.

A deliberate act by a thug. Now a guy who has contributed more to the SANFL than Norths coach ever will has to sit on the sidelines for 10 weeks. It will be interesting to see how Clint goes in the next doggies vs roosters game.

CENTRAL District's bid to regain top form has been dealt a massive blow with gun on-baller Chris Gowans sidelined for at least eight weeks. Gowans, who missed the three-point loss to Glenelg on Sunday, will seek specialist advice today but a MRI has already found posterior ligament damage.

The six-times premiership player hurt his left knee in a clash with North Adelaide forward Clint Alleway in the Anzac Day battle at Adelaide Oval.

Very long blow considering Alleways contact was front on with Gowans upper body.

Mate, only the most foolish of football followers would call Gowans injury malicious on Alleway's part.

Ask Chris for his interpretation.

Th injury looked like a result of the clash, regardless of where Alleway made contact, maybe an awkward landing. Alleway's contact with Chris was unnecessary and Chris deservedly received the free and 25, not that he needed either.
Alleway's bump looked malicious to me smac, not just the way he cleaned Chris up but the way he acted immediately after it.
Alleway would not have known what the end result would be and I'm sure he would not wish a long spell off on anyone, just did it in the heat of the moment, Chris Gowan's mark/goal came as the game looked to be slipping away for North.
Just after Chris got up, Alleyway looking on:

What is Chris's interpretation smac?

Agreed, but that doesn't mean Alleway's act wasn't malicious.
There's s**t that happens and s**t that can be prevented.

Lots of things can be prevented, lots of free kicks (and 25m penalties can be given away) are given away every single game. Unfortunately in this instance someone got injured.

Not sure why anyone would get upset over it when the bloke affected the most isn't. He's not happy about missing half a season but that's about it.

Alleway might have been a bit Tall Jan on Gowser - but I don't reckon there'd be too many tears from him.

Well I'm a Dogs supporter and one of the Gowans has a long term injury.

It happened a while ago and I never said anything about it, I just read your comment:

Mate, only the most foolish of football followers would call Gowans injury malicious on Alleway's part.

That comment just surprised me, I must be one of the most foolish football followers!

Anyway - this is a thread about the Centrals Eagles game.
Granted Gowser will miss this game because of the injury, but let's talk about Saturday night eh?

Hey Fellow Footy Fans...

Full Forward: Luke Cowan, Daniel Havelberg, Elijah Ware
Half Forwards: Chad O'Sullivan, Heath Lawry, Trent Goodrem
Centre Line: Paul Thomas, James Gowans, Leigh Westhoff
Half Backs: Adam Switala, Daniel Schell, Ryan Williams
Full Backs: Andrew Hayes, Yves Sibenaler, Richard Cochrane

Rucks: Jonathon Giles, Luke McCabe, Matthew Slade

Interchange: Jason Mackenzie, Scott Dutschke and Cameron Faulkner

So that is only the 2 changes from the team that got done by Glenelg on Sunday...

IN: Thomas, Giles

OUT: Slattery (knee) Shaw (dropped)

I think it's a good move to bring Joffa in for a league game, I just think he does more around the ground than Big Shawy. I certainly think Shaw is capable of being a very good league ruckman but he really does need to work harder on finding a bit more of the footy and then his disposal. I think the other good thing with Joffa is he seems to get around the ground a bit more and does well to drop back into the hole in the defensive 50.

I haven't seen Earl do that for a few weeks now but thought he did it fairly well for 3 and a bit quarters in round 2 against Sturt at Unley. I reckon, not only for his confidence but to also find a bit more of the footy, a run in the magoos will be good for the Big Swannies ruckman... We will certainly welcome Thommo's hardness and run back into the team but it will be a bit of a loss with Slatts out of the team. Obviously Nutta's hammy didn't come up and to be honest, if it's still touch and go after this week, he should be rested the following week (againsts the lowly Bloods) just to make sure it is 100%. I think we have a team good enough to win on Saturday night, it just depends on whether or not we decide to play 4 consistant quarters of hard running footy.

GO U DOGGIES...

Big Phil...
