I am not too comcerned about a possible burn out factor, because
1. Craigy is a genius when it comes to preparing a team physically for an entire season, he will tone down training about mid season, then give them a heavy work load between rnds 15-20, freshen them up for the finals. Last years finals failure was not due to burn out, they just didn't play good enough footy...
2. The midfield, there are plenty of players and options rotrating through the midfield, I think you will find that the work load will be even shared and given the added depth of Doughty, Knights, Skipworth, Bode, Thompson, Rielly etc, this will allow Mccleod, Roo and Edwards to spend extended period of times out of the engine, then come finals, given the shared work load the boys should be fresh enough.
3. BIG BONUS, will be if Bock, Welsh and Perrie can get back and in some sort of form, this will add to the structure and free Roo to play in the midfield, if Roo spends the first 16-18 rounds up forward, come finals, he will be fresh, fit and raring to go and opposition clubs might find him a bit too hard to handle.

Rnd 1
Beat Collingwood in Melb, who are currently top, with 5 wins and 1 loss, which is to the crows
Rnd 2
Loss to Eagles, who are currently 3rd, once again 5 wins and 1 loss
Rnd 3
Beat Melbourne, who are 9th and have won their last three since losing to the crows
Rnd 4
Beat Freo in perth, who are 6th, and since have beaten St Kilda and West Coast
Rnd 5
Smashed the Bullies, who are 4th, and at this point of time were running hot
Rnd 6
Smashed port by 8 goals in pretty bad footy conditions....
Next three games against Roo's, Tigers at Telstra where the crows have a good record followed by Carlton at home, so it is possible the crows could well be 8 wins after 9 rounds and with 7 of the last 10 games at home, less travel and greater recovery, this should keep the boys pretty fresh

OK, maybe not but who can tell at this time of year? I think there a few clubs that can win it and of course Adelaide would be considered one of those by the majority of judges. To me, I sense an Adelaide burn out. The Crows are currently training and running harder than any other club and the injuries are starting to appear, something that didn't happen last year (ok there was a few but not compared to St Kilda, Geelong, Freo and Collingwood for starters). I have been most impressed by the Crows' consistency and the sheer will to win that they have displayed so far this season (if not their style of game) but I am not all that sure they can sustain this level of hard running throughout the duration of the season.
My Adelaide prediction for this week is that the match against the Kangaroos will have Wedgie posting from the rooftops decrying what is happening in the AFL because it will be a floodathon, probably instigated by Laidley once the Crows start getting on top. With Adelaide's superior run and skill, they will keep the ball away from the Roos and win a unremarkable low scoring encounter in front of a paltry crowd. Jeez, I get cynical when the Cats have one of their famous losing runs!![]()
Good luck this week,
