WC Eagles lucky Melbourne in AFL

Postby brod » Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:34 pm

How much worse can the West Coast Eagles get.
- Currently 1-5 (15th 66.9%)
- Have scored only 15 more points than the Demons
- Coach has said that they are now playing for next year
- Kerr before tribunal (potential 3-5 week holiday)
- Shannon Hurn broke fibula (4-6 weeks out)
- Adam Hunter knee injury (out for 6 weeks)
- Mitch Brown knee (season)
- Priddis/LeCras injured (2 more weeks)
- Ash Hansen's body not getting better (will it ever??)
- Their only forward (McKinley) has played a grand total of 5 AFL games

After spending the last three years in WA and having all things West Coast stuffed down your throat...Not a tear shed from me

Carlton would have to be a pretty good chance of knocking them off this week.

Should be able to dominate midfield for most the match and their defence should be able to handle McKinley.
Fev will have Glass, but if he manages 5 or more, they can get up.

With Kerr, Hunter and Hurn out, WCE look very ordinary.

Who's had the worst fall since 2006, Melbourne or West Coast?.
Even tough WC were premiers that year, I think the D's have fallen further.
WC lost Judd & Cousins but Melbourne have not lost two players this influential to
their structure.
Don't start with Travis Johnstone, he is no Judd or Cousins.

Hopefully they'll boo him the same way they booed Daniel Chick when he switched clubs.

Booing players for switching clubs is one of the more idiotic 'traditions' we have in Australian football.

West Coast went through all the problems in the world re allegations of drug use in the club yet seemed to sail through it all unscathed at the time, I think that maybe the current results of the club however are related to how they handled that issue despite it being a new season. Had Judd have stayed things could well be different!

My point is that if you boo one player for switching clubs then you boo ALL players that do this, regardless of whether YOUR team is involved
Similar to Mark Williams going crook at Nick Stevens going home but not Gavin Wanganeen for doing the same thing.

Wanganeen had a previous emotional attachment to Port Adelaide since his teenage years, he was effectively returning to a club he'd previously played for and i believe didn't like the prospect of playing against Port Adelaide, i dont think its the same as the Stevens situation.

There are similarities, but its not exactly the same. Wanganeen chose to play in Melbourne when he could have stayed and played for the Crows, so to him what mattered more was the fact that he was playing for the club of his choice which was firstly Essendon (and not the Crows) and then secondly Port Adelaide. Stevens just wanted to move back to Victoria, and from stories that I've heard he wasn't completely committed to the PAFC in his last year or so. I doubt Wanganeen's commitment could ever be questioned at Essendon.

Well mate a few injuries and playing bad football with key personel missing. So yeah they might get worse before they get better. I mean port beat them then other week ;)

And I dont see that as a bad thing. And if West coasts only forward is McKinley then im not sure what Kennedy was doing, thought he played forward last night?

All teams have years like this. The Eagles will be shite this year no doubt.

As for having all things West Coast stuffed down down your throat welcome to Adelaide indeed. Hope your a crow supporter.

The eagles are in desperate trouble, looking back they were lucky to knock off Brisbane in rd 1. In all honsty I beleive woosher has a lot to answer for. This time last year they were top with Cousins to come back. I think it shows how much they relied on such a small minority of players and that there were alot of passengers in that squad. They would want to hope Kerr doesnt pack up his bags and want to go home because if he does they are in diabolical trouble. Lets not forget they are getting belted by Carlton at Subiaco. If they cant win in Perth they will win no where.....
Can you bring a man to his feet when defeat is on repeat?

I think it's really sad that such a proud strong club can plumb to such depths. It really breaks my heart pffft...to see bwaahaha...no...too late !!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

SUCK 5HIT YOU DOGS

Seriously though, Woosha can't actually coach can he? Last year's semi when he rested his fullback when he was cleaing up Rocca probably sums it up really.
