I'll go a bit more 'left field'. This is without too much thought (might be why I get shot down in flames)

Simon Goodwin I think played in I think three consecutive grand finals (juniors, Adelaide, Adelaide - 96/97/98)
Kane Johnson I think played pretty much the same time for the same result
Clay Sampson
Matt Connell I reckon would be close

Just the 18 wins for Pikey.
Now that Craig McRae has been correctly nominated, you should stay away from any player who has spent time at the Brisbane Lions from this point forth.

I'm going off the air for a while. However;

2 players are still live for the quiz so I'll check guesses in order and still more than happy to award the last two books up for grabs as prizes. As said, ignore any Brisbane Lions suggestions from here for the last two blokes, and ignore any player who wasn't playing AFL footy at some point after 1996.

Ash Hansen got to 18 wins through 2006 - 2007, but no further. he's incorrect and he's the only West Coast player in the top 65 (another clue there)

King - incorrect
Goodes - incorrect.

Hird - correct (even if it will amaze people) as he missed a chunk of games through injury in 2000 but he played so little in 99 that he only played in wins, hence getting him to 24 straight, before his streak broke in early 01. That leaves one to get.

FROM THIS POINT FORTH, YOU SHOULD IGNORE ALL ESSENDON PLAYERS. The one remaining guess is actually the first player to achieve the feat of playing in 24 successive AFL wins.
