I couldn't find it on AFC website.
I know he booted 148 for the Dockers.

Well no doubt the AFC would want him if he was that age and in full flight, he kicked over 100 goals one year, and would have been a 10 year player at that club if it wasn't for a certain coach.

That certain coach also told A.Jarman,T.McGuiness and C.McDermott to get knotted and then won 2 flags. Can't argue with that....... I know he was not fit but the crows played alot better in the 97 prelim without him at FF. harsh I know but history does speak for itself....

From the perspective that they won 2 flags i guess Blight made the right decision, but Mods was about 3 years younger than those other players, and from what i've heard it was off field reasons Blight decided to move him on.

majority of the time it's off field issues that screw up a club. WCE this year is a prime example. Blight was the best match day coach in the AFL. Some of his input in commentary is beyond beleif, imagine when he really has his mind going on match day...... If he was not sacked by the Saints I honestly beleive they would have won at least 1 flag since he was appointed and would have gotten rid of that idiot Gehrig (Meatheads like him are the reason why the saints are a waste)

Blight as a commentator is about the best you get, he has a great insight into the game and really makes you think about things you wouldn't think about, he is great.

Nothing will beat Blight's call about 5 years ago in a match between Brisbane and North Melbourne when he went to say drop punt and it came out as drop c...
The stunned silence of the other commentators afterwards was priceless!

Also when he commentates and a bloke is about 60m out. Have a go with the torp he always says, "if it don't work put it away, if it does then everyone will love it". He was always big on Matty Robran having a go. Play my footy that way. Plus when its wet weather footy he always fires up about players trying to hit targets in the wet, "just bomb it forward with a tumble punt. Get there just as quick". Its simple stuff but it makes sense, very smart but obvious.

I always though Modra was not big enough for FF and got by on his leap, which the opposition didn't expect until they had seen a bit of him. Then he became less successful. His success depended on delivery to his advantage, which required a good midfield. That's possibly, also, why Scott Hodges worked in front of a strong Port in the SANFL, but was not so successful in the AFL.

The Crows have tried the same approach with Welsh and now Burton. The odds of it working are not good.

I like direct play and a big man who can contest at CHF and FF, so that if they don't get the mark the ball at least comes to the ground, even if the midfield aren't on top and it is a hurried kick forward.

Lets not forget his plans for the 1989 VFL gf for Geelong in the last quater to kick the ball with a flat punt into the wind in the last quater. He has an amazing footy brain,absolutly unreal at times. As I said he was an unreal matchday coach because no one knew what he was doing (Even him at times).
