studley & earlier bone have had a scathing attack on the jumper, there will be a story on the channel 7 news tonight about it but i've been to the trials & to the 2 games we've played & you can not tell the difference in general play only when you see a player at close range, well at least glideroll will get a decent add out of it

, the pride taken in the black jumper with the gold sash. To have a sponsors name splashed straight down the sash is an absolute joke. The bays have sold their soul to the devil for a little cashola. All I can say is this Gliderol deal must worth a mint because they've got the name on both sides of the jumper. Darren Chandler you are a disgrace to yourself and your club. Bones has everyright to be pissed about it.

I don't think Glenelg are or will be the only club to compromise for cash, but I have to say when I saw the jumper in the first trial against West I thought it was the ultimate sell-out. I don't particularly blame the Club, but there's no doubt it's totally intrusive.

Most team guernseys have up to a dozen sponsors' names on them if you count, but the Gliderol one sullies the integrity of the jumper.

I hope West's sash isn't similarly treated, but who knows when sponsor's cash is offered.

You mean like having BANNER plastered across the sash in the 90s or Cappo Bros seafoods - Westies was one of the first clubs to sully the front of the guernsey (i.e sell out to sposors) with the sponsors name across the chest as opposed to the sponsors badge over the right breast...

I'd take a lecture from Norwood fans on selling out of the guernsey as they have kept the front of their guernsey "clean" but I draw the line at West supporters - pot kettle black calling the - join the dots.

As I've said before I'd prefer it if teh league made the rule one sponsors logo over the right breast as it used to be so no sponsors over the front of guernsey. However that won't happen our current design - with sponsors is the best we've had since 1986

...... or whether he has been put on their books since the story on the TV last week. In 1 week he has probably out-performed their entire marketing dept's effort for all of the last 12 months

How anyone can say having 12 company logos of different colours on a guernsey doesn't 'sully' it is beyond me

This is it. I couldn't care less what non-Norwood people think about things we do, and the only opinions that count on the Glenelg jumper is Tigers members & supporters. FWIW, I think it's better than last year.

You're a sensitive soul, TM. The whole point of my post was that no club is immune from this sort of thing, let alone Westies. It's hard for either of our Clubs to have a sponsor's logo without covering some of the sash, but I think the Bays have surrendered the whole sash to the sponsor, thus making a statement (in my opinion) that the sash isn't important.

As for the Banner logo years ago, I agree that it was a very ordinary look.

i dont know what all the fuss is about, i dont reckon it detracts from the guernsey at all - and i love that jumper

the one that looks the worst is the port magpie jumper, you can hardly notice the prison bars with all the sponso logos on the front

I've followed the Bloods for longer than you've followed anyone, stampy, but I can't recall Westies sash having a sponsor's name along it like the Gliderol one, so perhaps I've got a short memory.

If you're referring to the Banner logo, perhaps you should take up reading and see what I've said about it already, or perhaps you've read it already but can't remember
