Round 4: Live Scores + General Discussion

Talk on the national game

Off topic..........sorry/.........

Yes Yongala is often mentioned on the news as having the states minmum temperature......only cause they have a weather station.......yunta has recordings but not forecasts if that makes sence but is quite often colder in winter.
FWIW, the overnight temp here tonight is 5.
Luckily I have 2 rules in life.

1 is that when I sweat it's time to rest.

2 is that when it is over 8 degrees I am allowed to drink.

And that's farenheit......

In actual fact, I'd assume if you averaged the max and the min temperatures out, Mount Lofty would be the coldest place because most of the winter it hardly gets above 12 or so degrees. Places around Yongala are more noted for cold nights than anything else, but I know it would get colder days than Adelaide (like Clare for example) most of the time. Smithy, would I be correct in saying that is so because of not only the higher altitude, but also because of the gullies that are around?

They must not make the same pipes here as they do in places like Dog_gers stomping ground - I'd imagine the backlog for plumbers in Canada would be until the next winter if they do! We might need to get back on topic now. ;)

Peter Bell will play his 277th AFL and will equal the record of Wayne Richardson from Collingwood for the most number of VFL/AFL games played by a Western Australian.
Not bad as Im sure he already holds the record for most games played by a Korean.

23,427 to see the Roos vs the Dees (North Melbourne home game) is a disgrace.

And about the same to see Geelong v Saints .... one team tipped for premier and the other for top 8 yet only 23,000 bother to go?

I have been one to stick the boot in to Port's crowds but here we have 4 Melbourne teams playing in Melbourne and between them they get not much more than a normal Crows game

Gee the North Melbourne footy club would be disappointed with that crowd as they have been pumping it up in Melbourne something chronic this week,

This is one of the games they transferred back from Carrara they wanted 30 000 Roos fans at this game to show the AFL that they have the support in Melbourne to be an ongoing concern

"We wanted to send a message to the rest of the AFL community, that with a reasonably good team, on (a) good day on a great ground we should have got 30,000 people," CEO Arocca said.

Well the Roos fans voted with their feet yesterday.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Im not sure how Port lost that Game. But in saying that the Lions were very good in last quater. Led my Bradshaw and Brown up forward and Black and Johnstone in the middle they did very well.

FFS....WHo are we playing? Melbourne....

Melbourne are the worst drawer of crowds in the AFL closely followed by the Bullies....from what I saw you cannot have a go at the Roos fans for not turning up....

Bullies/Melb drew 16k last year and Freo/Melb drew 12k.....nothing said about that of course...

Fairy 'nuff about who they we're playing (and I doubt that the Snow seasons has started for the elbow patch wearing range Rover drivers so they should have rocked up too) but when the call to arms is put out especially when it is linked by teh club to their ongoing viability surely that's enough to get the North supporters to rock up?

Exactly Dutchy, who wants to go watch a side that is 3-0?

Melbourne are the worst side in the AFL!

If anybody had played Melbourne yesterday, there would have been exactly the same crowd, actually, probably less.

That's not completly true...

If it was Richmond v Melbourne they would have got 30,000 there - it would be about the only chance for either set of supporters to watch their team with a chance to win a game
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
