Interesting result, we were well lucky to get a win out of being behind all the game, frustrating not to get a direct broadcast, yet we are by no means the only club to be in that situation.

I had a feeling that Westies were a damn good chance of winning today and was somewhat relieved when I heard that we had gotten back and pinched the win after trailing all day. I dont have the figures, yet Westies seem to win more than they lose at Hickinbothamm so in that respect we did well.

Not the greatest skills on show from the Panthers, yet good in patches though and ultimatley when it counted. What really is encouraging me about South at the moment is that the team are giving it the full four quarters and playing each game out to the bitter end as evidenced against Port and now West.

We have a way to go yet, but to have confidence that the team are consistantly putting in four quarters is a huge part of the way to recovery for us.

Still its been a long time since we started a season 3 - 0, and I am confident we can get better from here!

Seeing Glenelg had a bye and it's close to home, I went and had a look.

Just wish South played like that when we played them. They were below their best but still managed a win.

Cupido was BOG. He played in defence & if it were'nt for him West would have surrendered the lead much earlier in the day.

Negatives:
Pretty poor standard match overall, but it was a very exciting last quarter.
Positives:
Coffee Van was in top form, Pies were $2 in the last quarter & my 2 year old really liked the Panther growl after each goal.
Yeah, Naah,..... Bollocks!

I feel we were very fortunate to get the points. I thought our first half in particular was appalling. 5 goals to zip at 1/4 time sums it up pretty well. However, down that far at 1/4 time last years team would have rolled over and been belted by 15 goals. Still 3 goals behind at 3/4 time South were still in the hunt and managed to sneak in . Warren took the mark of the year- shame there was no video- in the last quarter , goaled and it was all South after that. :?

Cupido BOG.

Pine Lodge would have the game available, blueandwhite - if you want to purchase, the mark is there for you.

I don't think he played for West's Reserves today. If he did, he was extremely quiet :)

As they say 'a win is a win'

Been a long time since I've witnessed such a poor standard of footy. Both teams blew opportunity after opportunity with the skill level going forward atrocious. Comical at times.

Cupido got a lot of it, plently of 'soft' kicks though. His foot skills were a class above anybody elses.

Big mark by Warren and Leigh Ryan the unlikely hero at the end :) I thought Parry's influence in ruck during the last quarter was telling.

3/3 so cant complain, but if we serve that up next week we'll get slaughted 8)

Cupido BOG.

I'm glad Benny took that screamer when he did because up till then he'd had hard hands and dropped everything he touched. When he dropped two or three of the balls that were delivered to him in the first we got killed in the rebound. Once we were under pressure our players went back to their old ways of always looking for someone in a better position to score, even when they were that person.

I agree Cupido was BOG. His evasion and ball skills were light years ahead of anyone else on the oval. (He learnt them at South don't ya know?)

I seriously thought we were very, very lucky to win today.

Awful game to watch with skills errors from both sides. Some parts highly embarrassing  I have seen better skills in a div. 12 amateur game!!!

I thought Cubi doll was BOG today. Held up westies defence very well. Westies backlines were fantastic....not letting Warren and co. much at the ball. The 1/4 was the killer for South. West 5 goals up did not help our start.

The positive thing about it with South is previous years we would have "thrown in the towel" and given up but now the attitude has changed and the fighting spirit fought through. That was the positive about the game for me.

Sturt this week, well, I dont know. If the Panthers play like they did today it will not be pretty.

Ugly game but hey, its 2 points......better than none.

West, very unlucky.......
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!
