Even with the red numbers?

Yep, it was as clear as if it was at nighttime, certainly not anything like North's timeclock which is hard to read.
Looked absolutely fantastic and couldn't have been any clearer, stood out more than the traditional scoreboards scores!

I thought the scoreboard was very good and notwithstanding that it has prob been hurried up for R2, it read very easily from the grandstand wing even in bright light.

I did find myself looking for other scores and wonder if the big scoreboard will ultimately be used for score updates and the bottom scroll used for sponsorship promos instead?

Slightly off topic but who was the ground announcer on Sat at Richmond? He was an absolute dead ringer (in voice) for Phil Herden. Phil - you have a voice clone out there, better get his number in case you are sick one weekend you are due to broadcast!

Also, what size crowd were Westies hoping for? I thought 2,500 was a bit disappointing given the new coach and recruits, the club's first game for the year and the perfect weather. As usual tho, everything worked like clockwork around the ground tho!

The ground announcer's name is Paul Davis, I think.

ha ha, I thought the same thing, sounded exactly like Phil's voice over the PA at Noarlunga last year.
Only because I knew Phil was at Unley was I 100% sure it wasn't him!

Squawk reference "did find myself looking for other scores and wonder if the big scoreboard will ultimately be used for score updates and the bottom scroll used for sponsorship promos instead?"

My understanding is the old big score board will end up being for sponsors with bottom scroll for round the grounds + some sponsor messages -- as elsewhere stated, sadly due to minor tech difficulties scrolling section was not available last weekend but will be by next home game.

Time will tell -- main thing is anyone how was there was impressed with its clarity and that the main thing. :D

LOL - I actually turned on my radio to CONFIRM he was broadcasting there and hadn't fallen away from his broadcast schedule!!
