Brad Lees Clearance Knocked Back! HFL tribunal determined that he owed Torrens Valley more service.......WTF?? He's a financial Premiership player with TV, yet he still owes them more SERVICE!?!? Kicking 4 goals in last years GF for TV in a tight Grand Final wasn't giving enough service I take it??

Seems that if any HFL player wants to join any other HFL Club, and if it goes to the tribunal, the player has got buckleys chance of winning. It'll be either: Owes Money (Fair enough), doesn't live in the town, hasn't given enough service, or any other BullSh*t excuse. Is Kersbrook the only HFL club which has a constitution that states, that if a player no longer wishes to play for us, and providing they are financial, the player WILL be cleared.

You have a couple of options mate. Gumeracha you son is gauranteed a game in the under 17s, Torrens Valley which will be a top 5 side in the under 17s this year or Birdwood they are some close teams near by.

Anyone Wanting to Have a Go at the ladder for this year seeing as we are about to start.

Tips this week are pretty easy.....

Nairne are looking ok this year seen a couple of the boyz out and about town, some great individuals there hope they can pull it together this year.

Echunga has basically retained basically the same team as last year with 3 more new boys same quality as last year & one or two old faces coming back looking fitter than ever. I don't know why everyone is counting them out already. They may struggle with their depth of players that is only concern.

Ladder for 08

Torrens Valley
Nairne
Kangarilla
Echunga
Kersbrook

Meadows
Gumeracha
Macclesfield
Callington.

have to agree with you their cougar...if a player doesn't want to play for us, why would we try and keep him!! i can't think of anything worse for club morale, seems kinda desperate on Torrens Valley part I'd say.

i dont know what Torrens Valley are trying to prove, i agree if a player wants to leave and they are financial then let him go. Is it true that at the end of last season, the kangarilla coaches made all the players to sign for season 08? This is what i was told not sure if its true, anyone?

Without knowing the ins and outs, would seem like a f****ing joke. Rule woudl seem to be written because of TV's actions, and now they're hiding behind it.

Was is "enough service" anyway?

Kangy players have the option to sign on for 2008 at end of 2007, no pressure to sign, but once they sign, they are obligated unless there is a viable reason to leave.

Closest Under 17 teams to Kersbrook would be Gumeracha (Hills Div 2), Barossa Districts (Gawler/Barossa), Birdwood (Hills Div 1) and Tea Tree Gully (Amateurs). Variety of Leagues to play in.

Understand some of the Kangarilla players sign contracts, binding that player to their Club for a period of time, which Lees didn't sign with TV.

TV's argument at the Tribunal, was that Brad Lees had only played a handful of games at TV and still owed them some. He had taken the opportunity of several others in making their GF team last year. Spose those 4 goals he kicked in the GF weren't enough to satisfy the TV faithful.........Seems like several other Hills Clubs share Kersbrook's opinion on clearing players and common sense does exist.

Bridgewater is playing in Kersbrook's U/17 slot, with a combined Kersbrook/Bridgewater team. First game this saturday at Houghton. (Who are also called the Raiders!)

So there is a position for any potential Kersbrook boys looking for a game in this combined team.

Hey Cougar, was the original clearance lodged before end of Feb? If so, as I understand it, under SANFL law, the clearance can only be rejected if unfinancial or under contract. Last time I looked, there was no written by-law or anything in the HFL constitution to state otherwise.
