Thanks to Psuedo for finding the image and posting it originally on SL.org

According to the news tippet will play .Hey I am just asking it would be better if no AFL players came back IMHO.
Just bring Heir and Grocke up from the two's.

It's only round two and it won't be season over for which ever team looses BUT both these teams have ambitions of finishing the minor round in the top3. To go 0-2 to start the season will make it very very difficult to catch other teams like Central, Sturt and North.
It's very important game for both these clubs whoever wins is underway for the season and can push for top3 while the loser will be playing catch up for the rest of the season.

Gee you doggies fans have changed your tune .Wasn't that many years ago that you guys kept saying to could be last half way through the year and still finish top .
Looking back to 2006 the eagles lost round 1 to North round 2 to Glenelg and still won the flag!!

But I do agree with you when u say the year is not lost who ever doesn't win this game.

The Bays were 1-6 last year, and came home with a wet sail...but there is NO WAY in hell I want the season starting like that again....

It's always nice to get a win on the board to get the season rolling so both teams will be as hungry as ever this weekend. The Eagles would have to look at some experience to return to the side with Passador, Grocke, Symmons and Hier available. I'd ease Symmons in through the reserves. I doubt he'd be ready to return 100% to the league team after a long lay off with injury. Passador at this stage I'd leave in the reserves for team balance, although I don't see why we can't work with 4 talls in the forward line given the athleticism of the other 3! My team to tackle the bays:

F: Fitzgerald Schwarze Salter
HF: Jacky A.Grocke Rimington
C: Jarrad Powell Petrenko
HB: McKenzie McEntee Biagi
B: J.Stewart Hier Giuffreda
R: Dabrowski Treeby P Fiacchi
I: Roberts Fairclough Geddes

Ins: A.Grocke, Petrenko, Hier
Outs: Staple, Mackie, Hicks

The Eagles forward line worked best last year with Schwarze the leading forward, Salter the floating forward within goal scoring distance and Grocke working hard at CHF. I see no reason why that can't work again. The forward line pressure will need to improve dramatically this week from the smalls. Grocke back should help in that area as well.

I think it's time Treeby became an on-baller. He should be able to adapt easily given his game style. This would leave a wing space open for a player such as Petrenko, Hicks or Jacky and give us more strength at the ball ups. I haven't seen Petrenko's name on the Crows or Eagles injury list so assume he is available? If not, I'd have Hicks start on the wing. Rotate McKenzie, Fairclough, Rimington, Salter and Geddes throughout the game.

The backline would be sured up with Hier on the last line, allowing Giuffreda to take the dangerous mid-size forwards. In Glenelg's case, McConnell.

I have a feeling the Crows will be unchanged so you won't see Ken, possibly Shirley if he's over his injury...

Aerie I have only seen Petrenko siting in the stands.
Grocke back we would certainly not see three backmen on Schwarze then.
Rimington not playing as on baller (like last week ) would have him on HB and Biagi closer to goal IMHO.
Leave Jacky up forward not running on the ball like last week

Petrenko is roughly a month away - his return will of course be managed by the Crows.

Don't know what your talking about wedgetail I thought Fitzgerald performed quite well against the cocks.

I agree he did some useful things but I believe he gets brushed off the ball too easily, he's in the side as a crumbing goal scorer and he doesn't do enough of this. Cicca's experience would be invaluable up forward.

I wish some people would forget about have crows players in the team, its crap. Lets worry about our own starting 21 and juniors coming through. If we do get AFL listed players back, lets worry about it on game day. :?

I wonder if we had more at the power than the crows, what would peoples view be then.

Normally I don't worry about them WOODWT after what they have been like in the past in finals etc.So I am sorry I brought it up.

Can see Grocke and Heir getting called up.
