Did any one make it down to see South V Glenelg?
Warren with 3 goals and Burdett with 11 touches.

Are you serious??? Is he still playing. I played on him a few years ago and was having a good chat too him about how he used to play against my old man, haha

I stood Barrie Clarke on debut at Goolwa Oval. He was playing his 400th, so it was fair to say that he had a little bit more experiance than me.

Has anyone got any scores from the Compass V Cove match? Cove were without Ramsey and Vick.

Speaking with a couple of Cove guys when Vick and Ramsey had State duties Ando then sat there best midfielders out aswell and gave last years under 18s and second tier onballers a run, just a rumour i heard.

Compass look to be a force this year and wherever Panther read that the Sunday Mail tipped Compass for the flag might not be far off!

Compass do look good, even better with Burdett in the line up lets hope he continues with South for a while longer yet.

Saints looked ordinary , if that is an indication of the year ahead then the new recruits and coach may be looking for another club next year . Their supporters would have been looking for a better performance LF .

Saints play Cove this weekend, they all know what has to be done and the season proper is only two weeks away. Lets hope they can pull it together in time and put in a solid performance this week. On the up side a few younger guys like Griffen, Cuthbert and Ferg looked solid and held their own.

especially considering Mt Barker only just beat Encounter Bay... Looks as though a bit more work needs to come. Hopefully the new guys will gel with the locals and have a better season thatn last. You were tipped as the underdog in the Sunday Mail!

Its way to easy to tip the Saints as the under dog or the roughie. All you need to do is check the clearances and you will see 11 in and 1 out, but if people did some in depth research they may look elsewhere. For example it looks as though hayden McKinlay wont play, as well as alex jones, matt doyle, matt wingard, brett mckinlay and others but they wont get cleared so what we have done may not be a true indication.

They had the Country Footy guide like last year where they name each club from each league, who the B&F and leading goal kickers were from last year, who the coach is, who the new recruits are and then take a punt at who will win and who will be a dark horse. It was a pull out in the middle. I didn't get it in the sunday mail I bought first (State edition) but found it in the final edition in a mates.

What do you mean they won't get cleared??? Because Goolwa won't or because they aren't playing anymore???

Matt Doyle is working in Mount Gambier, Brett McKinlay working at Yulara (Ayres Rock), Matt Wingard has family and work commitments and Alex Jones has Uni. Also another couple i have heard that won't be lacing up the boots for other various reasons.

Pretty disappointed with the 20/20 carnival on the weekend.
the football wasn't bad, it was good to have a run, the oval was in good nick and facilities were fine.
But after the games, we (Berri) were the only club to hang around and have a beer aside from a few of the Aldinga boys and a handful of Encounter Bay players.
The E/Bay club was more than hospitable, and Lindsay Bassani was a great host, but where was the rest of the team?
The food provided was good, and I'm sure they took in plenty from the meals, but where was the atmosphere?
Nothing against E/Bay, the blokes who hung around were great, but where was the support of your own club?
We left there at 9.30 with maybe 3 or 4 of the remaining E/Bay players.
Bassani led by example, pity a lot of the players didn't follow in his footsteps.
