You will see that I'm one of the more positive posters going around for the AFC, I'm just calling out where we can improve even further. McGregor can play when the ball comes in over his head in a standing contest, but he just does not have the mobility to roam across the HF area which is where Tippett's inclusion has forced him. If we are to continue with this setup I am afraid you will see Kenny lose his place sooner rather than later a la Perrie last year.

i must admit i'm not sure if your one of the negative posters, but i reckon he has a spot in the team. but for the record i agree about jericho, even though he played a good game tonite, i just dont think theres room for him.

Astute work by yours truly to foreshadow this result.

Excellent game by the lads today, great to finally break the hoodoo (about bloody time). So many contributors, but I must single out Jericho - sure he had 19 possessions and has the physical attributes to be a good AFL player but being very close to the action today it is clear how soft he continues to be. One handed marking attempts, the slightest nudge causes him to drop the simplest of marks on the lead. Was selective with how hard he chased the opposition; I cannot repeat this enough but this guy has so much ability with zero heart!!

I'm on the fence regarding selection next week - I don't believe any player, regardless of how many touches they get, deserves to be in an AFL side if they don't give 100%. Jericho out, Knights in next week for mine.

Also... McGregor: too slow to play anywhere but full forward and unfortunately for him there is a young man by the name of Kurt Tippett who is an infinitely better prospect in this spot. On more than one occasion today I watched Kenny fall behind the contest and I imagined the much quicker Gill in the same passage of play: would have accelerated to the contest and at least put the pressure on. Hentschel, Gill, Sellar in a year or so, these are the guys we should be looking at. Can't wait for Gilly and Potential to come back from injury, hopefully in place of McGregor.

I agree, IMO Kenny is currently playing his role, however, a fit Gill and a fit Hentchel down the track will put enormous selection pressure on Kenny as I do not believe Kenny can play any other position than up forward.

Tippett and Sellar are our long term Key forward options, if fit I would have Gill and Hentchel in front of Kenny

it will be a real challenge for McGregor to continue to hold his spot

Goodwin with Seven Goals was something to watch today, certainley reinforces what the Crows management saw in him when giving him the Captaincy!

Well done Crows. The Blackbirds have been released in no uncertain terms and they toyed with West Coast today. I've been going on for ages about the lack of young talent but I was wrong, wrong, wrong as the Crows seem to be reasonably well stocked with the next generation in comparison to some other clubs that are going around. The ruck division remains the weakness but it might not be the fatal error I thought it might have been initially if today's result is any guide.

An interesting game and it's always good to see the Eagles get smashed. Well done.

Yep, Goody had a day out but I thought the commentator's point about the madness of not filling in the hole was a good one. Not saying that he can't score goals when this happens but hey at least make him use more than one method to score his goals.

This is an end of an era for the Eagles.....

They've won a home game and lost an away game. Hardly the end of an era. The Eagles had a dirty day when they weren't switched on and the Crows are good enough to punish that. Nicoski's foul on Goodwin in a 3-on-1 contest when his two teammates had the situation covered was emblematic of the "dirty day syndrome".

Cox, Kerr, Stenglein and Priddis is still better than most centre square setups. Not sure they can have Fletcher and Priddis in the same side - two midfielders with lack of leg speed is one too many these days.

I thought most of the slagging was coming from those who are dedicatedly anti-Crows and just looking for something to pick at - players, supporters, jumpers, anything!

McGregor has a useful role for now, but I agree he is likely to be displaced as other players develop, or if Hentschell makes a good recovery. His best position is as a stay at home forward pocket, and his mobility appears to be limited for other roles, but he can take a contested mark, which will matter when the mid-field isn't on top and delivery isn't good

I've been to a few games of the Crows & don't understand the need for some crows supporters slagging their own players when they make a mistake, how boring would the game be if it was mistake free? I thought you go to the footy to support & encourage your team to victory.

We are all entitled to our own opinions regarding players form etc..& Psyber i agree whole-heartedly with your thoughts on McGregor, he hasn't got the pace like Goodwin to be a dominant leading fwd & can be exposed by quicker opposition backmen yet he's stronger in the one on one contest.
