Firstly great publication but found my first mistake within five minutes: last year was our forth major rd appearance since 1992: 1993, 1994, 1999 and 2007.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The more I read it the more Im impressed, the records are fantastic and the articles are sensational, I loved Phil's fictional piece of work about what the SANFL will be like in 2027, had me giggling quite a bit.

Great to see that orders are still rolling in despite it being RRP now. Im passing addresses onto Peter as I get them so if you do order one the delay shouldn't be too long.

If anyone who lives in the US or UK orders from now wants one postage of $12.95 extra will be required so pm me to organise, don't just click on the Buy Now button and go through the normal motions.
Cheers.

No, I wasn't having a go at you by any means. I haven't got my copy yet so I haven't had a chance to see for myself.

The reason I asked is because I was thinking maybe we should begin a sticky on SA Footy for people to list any errors they may find.

The purpose of this would be to assist the authors to correct them and make the next issue even better.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am sure that over 230 pages, hundreds of thousands of words & records that there will be some errors.

Its not from not bothering to check things, you should have seen the number of changes we made from first to second then second to thrid draft. Then printers draft to final copy.

There was less time to proof read than 2006, this was an intense 6 week project, the other was 6 months. Every page was reviewed by at least two people at some point but as I found in 2006 three people can read the same page and come up with very different errors.

One idea we might do for the 2009 edition (yes planning already underway) is to have a "proofing day" as at meeting room somewhere. We the get 10-15 people in at one time to check things a few times each.

As for 2008, errors will come in two forms.

- Typos & misprints
- need to take those on the chin as they are identified

- factual errors (ie not correct, requires correction in future issues)
- very happy to receive an e-mail (ausgrid@esc.net.au) to note for 2009 & beyond.

Thanks again for the support & feedback, its nice to know many have enjoyed the book, that makes it worth the effort.

Regards
Phil

Even the AFL equivalent book has typos and incorrect figures - like biggest winning margins and still stating that Bob Hank was at Sturt when he achieved All-Australian selection in 1953.
