Yes they are and they also brought with them a bloke called Josh Dutschke who played with them for Maitland in their winning grand final-all three were good contributors and Ben Gunning won the Mail medal for the Yorke Peninsula
Modbury will have plenty of run put James harrison back in to the team on a wing and the 3 maitland boys in the middle very handy indeed
Alex lunn i believe is out there he will be handy having played A1 footy last year

Excuses. Yeah righto there NM.
You seem to have a chip on your shoulder with a lot of clubs?
However, I wouldn't think your prediction for us is too far off the mark. Obviously we'd be aiming higher, but as was said earlier, the eveness of division 2 is astounding!

Blues08, i wouldn't place too much pressure or high expectations on Alex Lunn, he struggles to cope with it!

I saw a fair bit of him last year, I think he is probably better suited in a grade other than Div 1 and he did have some health issues too.

Rupert just made it sound like Alex would stuggle to cope with expectation, which he wouldn't. He's a good in and under player. He's still young too..
He might struggle in general though, who wouldn't when you've had/have CFS. I hope the poor kid doesnt put too much expectation on himself though. He just won't be able to do as much as he used to.

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
An initiative from the SAAFL for this year...
"One of the celebrations during the community football weekend is a rivalry round. Programming of
rivals on a particular weekend is a challenge for a competition that has 68 clubs and over 220
teams but we have picked out at least one rival game in each division. Make sure you get behind
your local club and support the rivalry round and catch up with some old team mates and
acquaintances."
Sounds great, then the rivalry games (or should I say game) for Div 2 is...
Div 2 – Pembroke V Payneham Norwood Union
Is there really a big rivalry between these two?

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
Nowhere near as big or long as ours Blu, but they probably chose it more for the GF replay aspect I guess.. it's also supposed to be the week where there is no AFL game and AFL players are supposed to attend Amateur games to get back to "grassroots" so to speak..
Will be interesting to see which AFL players each club will get.

well i dont think any smosh (AFL) players will be at phos unless the races finish early. As for Shoc's dont think they will get many to modbury. Unless superstar taz drives the bus up there.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I thought that Athelstone would have got PNU or SMOSH, Adel Uni is a strange choice

That fits in with what I heard from a couple of districts lads- 6-8 missing, but best picked otherwise.
ANy news on Pembroke or SHOC's? Have heard absolutely nothing.
SMOSH have a trial against Salisbury at the delightful Salisbury Oval (no pisstake here at all - great oval)
Think Pembroke will be pretty similar to last season, have a few very handy players. SHOC's have lost a lot of their better players who have gone overseas/interstate or having a crack at league clubs.
Winstanley definitely left SHOCs. Heading up to Moonta.
Todd???
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Correct. At least that's what Moonta were saying last week. Had him as an 'In' in their newsletter, didn't play in the trial though.

It might seem like that in your eyes turbo ( a chip ) but i can tell you i have nothing against a club like smosh, its a pity some of you can't take the truth... well how i see it anyway.
Maybe stop look'n for excuses, i only judge it from what i read & see, if you don't like that well to bad.
Some people can't handle the truth.
As for the eveness in your eyes of div2, how do you know that??

Re: SAAFL Div 2 2008
Well I actually don't have a life and spend my weeknights watching amateur league football clubs train. And I set up cameras at five grounds every friday night so I never miss a game and watch them all on sundays.
So I'm an expert.
The competitions even.

No one seems to fit because Div 2 is unknown territory for Uni, I don't think anything derogatory was meant by it. In this case though, you could only pick Edwardstown because they're the only other team that has played Uni on any regular basis over the years.
