ME some of the Juniors playing in the senior trials looked quite good IMHO.

On the contrary G these two areas actually went very well down South;

South Membership in 2007 was up by 505, the highest growth in terms of percentage and numbers in the SANFL (by a mile)

To my understanding this membership growth was the only thing the Panthers led the SANFL in last year.

Also, South Home Match Crowds were up by 7.8% last year, the 3rd highest growth in SANFL (behind Sturt & West).

But I am digressing,

It should be noted that based on official SANFL 2007 figures the Eagles finished 4th in terms on Membership, above the league average and only behind Port (1st), Central (2nd) & North (3rd).

Yes, that means WWT last year had more members than either Sturt, Norwood or Glenelg. That makes North are the next club the Eagles are chasing.

This all leads to round 1 being set up as a great game the battle of last years 2nd and 3rd placed teams .
Will the SANFL build this game up in the media I bet not .

Phil, just curious but did your figures include the Anzac Day game as a home game for the Eagles and did you include designated home games at Adelaide Oval or is it just a battle between Woodville and Prospect?

Toughest tip of the round I reckon, North only just home in what should be a great game of footy.

PhilH wrote:For all those Rooster fans who like to make fun of the Eagles supporter numbers, you should first consider these figures.

They show that if the 2007 trends in Home Game attendances and Memberships continue for 2008 then in both categories the Eagles will OVERTAKE North Adelaide.

Avg Home Game Attendances
Year Eag NA
2005 2332 3218
2006 2423 3193
2007 2473 (+2%) 2768 (-13%)

If 2007 trend is repeated in 2008

2008 2522 (+2%) 2399 (-13%)

Ie Eagles would get more to its home games than North.

MEMBERSHIPS
Year Eagles North[/b]
2006 2051 2664
2007 2139 (+4%) 2329 (-13%)
If 2007 trend continues
2008 2224 (+4%) 2026 (-13%)

Thanks Phil, I'd take the actuals for 2007 as the best indicator. Forecasts for 2008 are just that.
Eagles home crowds last year were only 295 less than north
Eagles Memberships were only 190 less than north.

Alas I feel that dregin would struggle to count to either of these surprisingly low numbers

On Phil's behalf, my reconciliation shows 10 home ground matches at woodville & thebby are included.
Does not include our only minor round match at adelaide oval last year v sturt when 3350 attended.

Does include the three home games at thebby. The anzac day game, given we had just won the premiership, and is our shared home ground is more than fair to count, regardless of whether adelaide oval was available, or the SANFL called it a neutral game :)

The average is 2472.5, rounded up to 2473. I knew there was at least one half a brained opposition supporter at each of our home games
