From a coaches perspective i have to ask the question why Robert Shirley was left on Brad Johnson in the last Qtr . That match up cost Adelaide the game , it was the biggest miss match you could imagine .

a: Why do you pretend you are Tom Hafey?
b: Shirley was moved off Johnno. Basset was on him when he kicked the last goal.
He's still my hero even if he is a little bit crap.

It's too simplistic to blame that matchup. Our down-fall, as against Hawthorn, was more to do with not closing out a close match when we are in front with a few minutes left. The ball shouldn't have even got down to Johnno in the first place. Especially 3 times. Ask any full-back if they want to cop the blame for the opponents mid-field running free through the corridor.

In fact, we should have been further in front at 3/4 time.

The same issues were evident last year v Hawthorn in the final. Not far enough in front when we had the run of the play. Then if Scotty Thompson doesn't kick out on the full with 30 seconds left Buddy never has the shot.

We have got to settle down better in the last few minutes and stop the late clangers is my non-expert assessment. Look at how far Port got last year by winning the close games late in the season.
In between signatures .....

a: where have i ever stated i am actually ' tom hafey ' ? i see many board names as former and current players /coaches .
b: one goal too late . Neil Craigs stuborness or belief is his downfall .... cant help but think about franklin kicking 7 goals last year with 1 opponent .

thanks for being a fan and showing interest in my posts

the crows have a real problem winning the tight games it has cost them in the past and will continue to cost them. they now have a mind set that if the game gets tight they cant pull any thing out to snatch the game. they still lack a key forward that has that something special (jarman like).
