One player that seems to have dodged all the barbs so far is Brad Symes. On that performance the smears can have him back. Give me Jason Torney any-day.

Brilliant free flowing exiting footy, this is the sort of game u would show someone who has never seen a game, sure we were on the wrong end of the result, but footy won today! Plus Brad Johnson has scored 1000s of points for me in fantasy footy over the years so ill forgive him, we still have the 97,98 prelims!

I was impressed with Bret Burton, he is not a likely type but he is becoming one of the best forwards in the game today! Always looks like doin something when in his area. I have been guilty of not being his biggest fan, but today im on the Burton bandwagon

Also Mcleod was always gonna be a luxury up forward, but when the goin gets tough how u can keep him from playin back, makes a pretty tough call for Craigy!

Just got back From Melb

Obviously disappointed with the result, we should of nailed the result by 3 qtr time, we had control of the game and let it slip

People will point to the Shirley / Johno match up, however, FFS Johno kicked 2 goals in the square that should of been easily rushed for behinds, whether it was shirley or a 1st game player, throw in 2 lucky soccer goals by the WB and misses to Tippett, pROPLYZIA, Goodwin and Bock, well their is the game

Lets not forget our first qtr, we got smashed in the stoppages and contested ball by a side that is very ordinary in this area, we continued to find ourselves in 2 on 1 and 3 on 1 contests, we also continued ro make fundamental error like 2 flying for the contest and no one down at ground level..

We should of nailed this game prior to the last qtr and the players need to take responsibility for that

Those taking a shot at Symes, yes not his best game, however the lad has done enough over the pre-season to warrant a fair go

Vince, needs to take his sanfl form and belief to the afl level

Proplyzia, all class, he is as good as G Ablett Jnr at gound level

Tippett, needs to play as a permanent forward, Griffen was excellent after qtr time, Maric needs to come in as the 2nd ruckman

Shirley, he is definitely struggling for leg speed, his lack of flexibility is a concern, maybe time to look at campbell in this role

D-Mac, this kid is 1 game away from arriving, he has class

Douglas, best game for the club, hopefully this was his break through game

Radar, excellent before he got injured, everytime he builds momentum he seems to get injured

Overall, still plenty of positives, IMO we will only get better, with Knights and Radar out, this is a great opportunity for D-Mac, Vince and Douglas to impress and stake their claims

One of the best H&A games in a long time, especially with the Crows losing.

Symes has one flaw that can and will not be removed from his game.Poor decision making, seemed to be the reason they got rid of Mattner......clean swap for me.

Great game to watch. Thought the crows were going to steal it for a second there. Well brad johnson - well hes in my dream team so I was happy when he started kicking goals ;)
Anyway good game, good to watch. Better than the Sydney and St.kilda game to watch.

I'd give him a bit longer to learn decision making. He attacks the ball and can win a contest.
I agree with Sydney about bringing in Maric and keeping Tippet in as a forward. I'd also use him as a third ruckman in rotation at times and develop his versatility.
I don't think Stevens is strong enough to be CHF or FF [or CHB] - more a flanker or pocket player at either end.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

I would have thought Geelong had been fairly competitive in the last 12 months. :?

I presume FD88 is saying that the Crows do more with their squad than what names on paper would indicate they should ie. playing above themselves, compared to Geelong who are clearly the best team in the league.

Not saying i agree with this, but i presume this is what is meant.

I would have thought that winning a Grand Final by a record margin of nearly 20 goals that Geelong wouldn't have done a bad job?

Or is a Crows minor round loss equivilent to a Geelong premiership win by 20 goals "competitively"?

Geelong were about 16/1 to win the premiership last year and odds on them having the season they had (with all australians, vfl win, etc) would have been about 500/1. Surely that's playing above yourself a bit better than a team that's always around the middle of the ladder?

Stupid, absolutely stupid but I'd expect nothing less from Rowe. If anything Port are a hell of a lot more competitive and played above themselves in 2007.

Anyway, good luck to the Crows, hopefully young players like McLeod, Edwards and Goodwin can improve as they get older and help the Crows look a bit better on paper. Perhaps one day they'll get the money and facilities that North Melbourne, the Bulldogs, etc get to train with that they'd be so envious of and start to over perform.

Great to win by 20 goals........ but it was a huge turn around from six months ago......

Good comments also Sydney dog

I would have thought finishing second after the end of the 07 minor round indicated they won reasonably consistently

If that was Douglas' best game for the club it doesn't say much. Yes he played well and showed promise, but he wasn't that good. Disappeared for long stretches.
