'uncle doug' has left the building & hopefully he is going well with his health but i new yesterday that, that era has ended because for the FIRST TIME EVER (in my time anyway) you didn't have to pay for a trial game at richmond oval

Reading the title I thought this was about how the dodgy old timeclock is finally gone!

I don't normally like to say good things about other clubs  .But i have to say the week before Westies appeared to have done plenty of work around the ground .painting seats etc .plus they have been the only club in the three trials I have attended to put on a BBQ.And guess what they underestimated the BBQ and needed to cook more.
thumbs up so far westies .
Oh plus the team sheets were coloured printed bet uncle doug would be spitting over that

well done to the club, must admit it is a great oval to watch footy from, plenty of space, plenty for the kids to do etc etc, a bit of paint here and there will be great, well done to Westies, lets hope they now start to put some results on the board out on the park

Good stuff Westies, also well done to Norwood on catering for the trial game well on Friday night, 2 bars (both with pale on tap) and a BBQ with plenty of team sheets, and no cost if you got there at the start of the ressies. :D

Cool, that's good, I thought I heard someone complaining about an entrance fee so assumed I might have got in before they manned the gate. Even more kudos to Norwood then!
Good to see most clubs attempting to improve their facilities for fans, its a pity a couple of clubs still seem to tread water like North and Glenelg. :(

BBQ???

Must be like the running sheet, I went looking for a BBQ feed yesterday at Richmond and no BBQ to be seen. A bit disappointed as the Westies BBQ is suspposed to be one of the better ones...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Nah, just with the Grand North and Northern being owned by us they're more keen on debt reduction.
Things are on the improve a little bit though as we've actually got a better relationship at the moment with the council than we have for a long time, they added netting in the grandstands to stop pigeon's pooping everywhere and now open the close the gates daily instead of leaving them permantly open. Its a start. :?

Didnt think it was called Richmond Oval anymore. Yes, some are quick to put the blame for some things back to Mr Thomas. We'll see if the club is as well off financially in a few years time. Good to see some upgrading thou, hope same goes for the position on the ladder. Westies PLEASE dont ever change the BBQ!

It was a case that the club who had the bbq the week b4, got advice that it was better not to have a bbq due to the extreme heat and was totally a food safety issue tassie nothing else.
