IMHO its a journalists job to get the facts, if the don't then they're pathetic.

They are getting the facts, from the police. It's been on the charge sheets that have been reported in the stories.
If the GF and Wayne don't wish to comment about it, which is fair enough, that's the only facts that the media can go on.

Show me the charge sheet that says he smashed a glass in his girlfriend's face or 'glassed' her.

I haven't seen an article that calls him a 'monster' or says anyone is 'living in fear' and I certainly am not implying that

Who cares ? Really he is a EX footballer who has no running in the modern game except through the media. As far as I'm aware he isn't on the NM board or involved with them, nor involved with the AFL. Media is his only outlet...
Will his supposed misdemeanour's affect the AFL season this year. NO. Play on and let the police and whoever sort it out.
Once there are some PROVEN facts then perhaps we can comment, but in reality, he's his own person and if he has dug himself into some 5hit then
it's up to him to dig himself out...
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Im shocked people on here seem to be justifying what Carey has done.

It's bloody scary actually.

Violence against women should not be justified and excuses made.

We all know what Carey is like and people on here are standing up for him.

The guy needs to take a chill pill , have a lie down and think of the actions he has made.

He will get a top lawyer and it will get thrown out......pathetic really.

have to agree dutchy nothing but rumours and media beat up at the moment if the media leave this alone it will go away (untill he gos to court ) but honestly as sjabc said he is not a contracted player or a club director/board member so big deal this sort of stuff happens everyday but we only hear about it when its a high profile person and then the person in question is hung before it even gos to court ......only person i feel for is the ALLEDGED victim if these allegations are true ..leave it alone and it will go away

Dutchy its the "its not as tho she has a scar" line that Southee is referring to I think. I don't think you meant it the way it sounds tho but the way its written its like "violence against women is OK as long as there's no permanent scarring" .

Plus the debate about the use of the word "smashed" when describing the alleged glass incident. Again, you could read yours and other posts as a defence of the alleged incident as tho "its not that bad, the glass didn't even break  "

Southee - I think they are having a crack at the media reporting rather than defending Wayne's alleged behaviour. Its just that they sound very similar.

I note that Caro has come out and said she refuses to ever be on the same show with him again.

This is the line I was referring to ....

Dutchy wrote:and show me a scar or a girlfriend who is living in fear from this monster

Not an exact quote I accept I was using quotation marks in the wrong way I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth

I was just trying to show how your comment could be construed in the wrong way - the way in which Southee construed it I assume. That post could be interpreted that you are minimising the issue of violence against women. Wedgie at least put a big disclaimer in the front of his post :D

As I said - I don't think you meant it that way. You seemed so surprised Southee reacted like that yet I almost posted something similar to his yesterday before giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Can you see what I mean?

Not really Hondo...the girlfriend who is supposed to have been "glassed" has no scar on her face...ive seen some shocking photos of people being glassed, she doesnt have a scratch from what I can see - she also stayed with him after all these incidents...is there a small possibility it didnt happen or was an accident?

All Im saying is we are hearing one side of this story, Im not going to judge anyone until Ive heard the facts from both sides
