Port won by about 40 points in a sometimes scrappy game...

South won by about 3 points mate ... Outplayed Norwood for most of the night with inaccuracy perhaps keeping the Legs in the contest.

South's workrate and cohesion was better than Norwood's and they dominated the centre circle all night, and worked pretty well as team right throughout the night.

Picked it.

West won by about four goals and my god it was hot .West out played the Eagles most of the day and in the 2nd quarter it was a toss up what was hotter West or the sun  .
But the eagles clawed their way back into the game and almost stole it at one point of the last quarter .
Way better game from the eagles this week and hopefully they will start some of the bigger names next week .
Some of the eagles new recruits showed a little more this week still need to improve some .But they did show some glimpses .
And in the seconds (yes I watched both entire games) it was VAST improvement on the week before even with Powell playing a half a game in the twos. Some very good high flying youngsters there like dawes .

Oh and on another note it was great meeting CD and the Eagles stats team who appeared to do a great job in stinking hot conditions .

Cheers

fair dose of the CBF factor out there today by Glenelg.

When we got our game half going we were OK, but a lot of blokes didn't really turn up to play hence we didn't score a goal in the 1st or 4th qtr. Port were great around the stoppages and in the HBG and LBG...

IMO, from what I saw (spent two qtrs running aftr kids downstairs) Summerton was BOG for them even though the Bays stats guys told me he burnt it a bit - hey at least it got it unlike most of our blokes.

Fair bit of experimenting by us, McConnell played HBF, Mouse played up forward except for the 2nd qtr when he was chucked in the guts and funny how that coincided with a run of 4 unanswered goals for us. He was showered up at half time, same with Kano who gave us a bit of run in the first half from CHB.

Despite the attitude displayed by us not to bad a trial, we tried a fair few things, a few blokes got a decent run and best of all no injuries.

However I think a few of our blokes may rue their poor attitudes come 9:30 Mon am, when we train.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Eagles Fans
West had out today of its side Nathan Brown, Peter Walsh, Lenny Clark, Shane Neaves, Marc Dragacevic, Grieger, Barber, Hartlett & Hutchins you would suggest are walk up starts, as well as numerous other kids. West also have possible AFL inclusions of Tippett, Moran, Dangerfield, Robbie Gray & M Pettigrew who could float into the side during the year on AFL form.

Eagles were playing their second trial plus any internals and had that edge over westies who only have played a lower 30 players internal trial of two halfs, no senior players really played.

I ask this question, why has ronny fuller not recruited some big name players to fill the void left by the retiring few???

Poitives for the Eagles was Luke Jarrad looked in good touch, young bigman nos 54 D Roberts looked ok in patches

And my last comment "Thanks Norwood for Bailey & Pratt, Bailey was BOG by a mile

Cicolella, Colville, R.Fiacchi, Fitzgerald, Geddes, Giuffreda, Gogoll, Hier, Lee, McKenzie, Powell, Redden, Symmons and Twomey have all played at least one league game and were not in the selected side Mickyj. 5 premiership players , our past three captains and our games record holder. Plus there was no AFL listed players such as Vince, Paul Stewart, Petrenko, Bock, Burton, Hentschel, Knights or McGregor in there either.
