Will be interesting to see if Ross Lyon loads the side up with all his guns . If he does it will be a very one sided affair .

Could have as many as 9 in from the last game. Including the likes of Harvey, Riewoldt and Hayes.

I know that Reiwoldt is having his first game tonight, Gardiner is back in to work with King and Essendon dont have Lloyd or Fletcher. Go Saints!!

9 inclusions after beating the reigning premiers last week , they will be a force in 08 by the looks . Only Port Power have a younger , talanted list .

Essendon have been very impressive throughout the pre season so far but i think their quest for NAB cup glory might end tonight. While St Kilda have no Kosi, Gehrig or Max they have some terrific inclusions such as Riewoldt, Ball, Harvey, Dal Santo and Hayes.

St Kilda may have a little to much class.

the saints have not impressed me tonight

they look slow coming out of defence and thru the middle, and they just bomb the ball too much

they certainly do not play a quick movement or running type of game

IMO they look slow and they do not look as fit as some of the other sides, I do not rate them as highly as others

No Kosi, Gehrig and a partially fit Riewoldt would be an explanation for the bombing. Very hard to play a direct game without 2 of your best forwards and a half fit Roo.

Does not do Bombers any harm loosing at this time. Will go away and learn from it. St Kilda worked hard to stop Essendons fast run on game and good sign for alll bombers fans out there, Bombers were able to change their game plan and keep with the match! Honestly PUP are you going spend the whole season telling us all who is in and out and use these as excuses? Thats footy,Every week. Your teams either good enough or its not and top sides do not rely on a few! so woof woof Pup!

Even taking that in to account, they look like a side that lacks leg speed, this will hurt you in the modern game

It was not used as excuse. I said that is one reason why they did not play as direct as they normally would.

Of course injuries are part of footy, they also have a major affect on teams on the verge of finals or top 4. If you think that sides can afford to lose 5 of their top players because as you put it "They dont rely on a few" then you are incredibly naive.

Essendon have been pretty good over the pre season but i still dont think they will make the 8.

What Lloyd won't straighten up Essendon?
Fletcher didn't play.
St Kilda had alot more experience in their line up than what Essendon had.
I have no doubt St Kilda will finish above Essendon, yet i'm impressed with the young Bombers outfit tho.
They will only improve with a few experienced players set to return to the line up.

They didn't get smashed like some predicted.
