From Tom's first website article
"I played with the Geelong Falcons in 2006 before playing with the Geelong VFL team last year. Despite spending most of the time on the sidelines due to an ankle injury, I look back at my time with Geelong with fond memories and see it as a great learning curve."

Tom is a quality lad who is looking to do well at his new home.

In his latest article he talks about the recent city camp the players held - here is some of Tom's thoughts - "The “camp” began at Thebarton with an 8am skills session. Despite the players feeling the effects of a full week of training, nothing less then 100% was given by all.
After training the boys headed over to the Function centre at Thebby for some breaky. Following the feed, the boys were told to break up into 6 large groups, then find a partner. The partner had to be someone you had never played with before. Luckily for me I partnered with 2006 premiership hero Sam Fairclough.

What followed was an entertaining couple of hours with games such as handball and water balloon throwing aimed at team bonding.

The Sunday session was a little bit trickier. The playing group met at Henley Square at the usual time, 8 o’clock for our final fitness tests of the summer, 3 x 300 followed by a Jetty to Jetty, which is roughly a 4k run along the beach. From previous experiences I knew the Jetty to Jetty was a tough run, but didn’t think too much of the 300’s. I was in for a rude shock. The lactic acid build up in my legs was ridiculous. I couldn’t walk for 5 minutes after. And I wasn’t the only one. Somehow we all completed the Jetty to Jetty. Daniel Roberts led from the start and turned in an astonishing time, 15:30.
That’s an amazing result when the body’s nice and fresh, but after the 300’s, that’s beyond inspirational.

The boys even survived my cooking of breakfast!!!

Sorry for asking a stupid question, but what's the link for this site? I've Googled "Eagles are Cool" and it comes up with no results. :? :?

Thanks for the updates by the way.

Check out Tom Couch's latest on the club website - an interview with David Biagi.

I'm calling all Eagle fans to help the Club propel up the membership ladder. Last year we finished 4th and we want to make our way up to number 1. Have a look at last years membership ladder, are you able to help make a difference in 2008.

Port - 2597 members

North - 2329

Central - 2305

Eagles - 2139

We have come a long way since 1999 when we were in 8th position, however over the past few years we have remained in 4th position. It is time to make a stand - refer a friend, renew your membership and lets climb up the ladder in 2008!!

Currently as of about 10 minutes ago - we have just over 1000 members. And a special bonus offer for a lucky junior member:
A Savings & Loans Treasure Chest account encourages children under 12 years of age to get into the habit of saving regularly. Your child has a chance to win by becoming an Eagles junior member before Friday, 9 May 2008. All junior members at this date will go into the draw to win a Savings & Loans Treasure Chest with $100!
